to think that my income is none of my ex-college's business?

The college I went to has sent me a form with contact details etc for me to check (no problem with that). At the end, they ask me to specify my income bracket. Two questions:

  1. AIBU to think that this is none of their business?
  1. AIBU to tick the 'over 1 million pounds' box in order to increase my chances of getting invited to lunch with the master?

It's obvious they're using it to promote the college.. "this is what happens if you go to our college, you become a high earner!!"

Tick the million quid box :D

I thought they were doing it as a means of targeting their fundraising! Either way, I'll tick the million pounds box

Tick the low income box...will make them feel useless, and they won't bother you again.

Do they actually have a low income box, or do they expect you to be a high earner?

Are you in scotland? Could it be to see if you are earning enough to pay back any loans you took out with them?

thanks for all the replies!

Lilqueenie - No, I'm not in Scotland and haven't got any student loans anymore - so nothing that innocuous

Lynette and sugarmouse: There is an 'up to 30,000' box and many of my college friends are low/middle earners. Perhaps I'll tick that and get left alone. DH (went to the same college) just chucked his form in the bin.

Zapostrophe - we've had undergraduates ringing us up as well - last time when DS2 was a week old and we were in the middle of a house move (they got a rather hormonal response )
