ok, I've calmed down a bit now but was seething earlier when leaving to pick kids up at school, I couldn't get bloody out my drive as the traffic was horrendous with folk rushing home early for the kick off. Not one fecker would slow down (it's not usually a problem) and let me reverse out. Palmed my horn for at least 5 seconds and nearly jumped out the car to confront them screaming 'you'll be going home, going home, the stupid feckers will be going home'! AIBU?

AnyFucker · 23/06/2010 22:09

boring

compo · 23/06/2010 22:09

Yes they're not coming home until Sunday

seriously if your drive is a pita to get out of why did you move there?

TheFallenMadonna · 23/06/2010 22:10

Yep. Always reverse onto your drive.

pooka · 23/06/2010 22:11

YABU.

It is a shame that no one let you out. I also saw loads of people driving like idiots to get to the match on time earlier when I went to pick up dd.

But palming your horn? Possibly confronting drivers in moving vehicles? Bit OTT.

Also would it not be a good idea to reverse onto the drive rather than reverse out? I think you need to calm down given that it all happened about 7 hours ago!

pooka · 23/06/2010 22:12

X-posts re: reversing onto drive! Great minds....

AnyFucker · 23/06/2010 22:13

Can I point you in this direction...

MrsRhettButler · 23/06/2010 22:15

i would be seething too but then i get terrible road rage and probably shouldn't drive anywhere ever!

but seriously, you should reverse onto your drive

MrsRhettButler · 23/06/2010 22:15

lol anyfucker

Fruitysunshine · 23/06/2010 22:17

I always reverse onto the drive as our road is quite busy at peak times, besides it makes me feel organised - strangely!

TeaOneSugar · 23/06/2010 22:22

I can't bear anyone pulling onto my drive, it looks messy, neatly reversed in is the only way - and much easier for getting back out.

scanty · 23/06/2010 22:23

fair enough if everyone thinks IWBU. Reversing in and driving out probably wouldn't make that much difference though as they would still have to stop for all of 5 secs to let me out. Plus have to park at a strange angle to get both cars in drive. They're still a bunch of feckers though I still stopped and let at least 3 folk out in front even in my RAGE!

Isn't it illegal to reverse onto a main road?

scanty · 23/06/2010 22:32

what constitutes a main road? It's in a housing estate but the main route in. Most folk in the street reverse out.

OP posts:
Imisssleeping · 24/06/2010 20:35

Not a main road then.

LittleMissHissyFit · 24/06/2010 20:48

This ridiculous fuss being made over football is totally and utterly sad.

YANBU, reverse into the drive in future and barge your way out if need be.

TIP: Wait for a really NEW car, 10 plate, expensive etc etc and pull out in front of them, they'll be so worried about the car, they'll soon stop....
