While getting frozen mixed peppers out of a bag (for my tea they are ideal on pizza)I noticed a lot of green ones about 80% in fact.Looking on the back it said 34% green and 33% red and yellow
The next bag I get I am going to seperate the colours and weigh them and complain if the percentages do not match
AIBU
This reminds me of a bag of drawing pins I got many years ago which said to contain 180,after counting them it came up 12 short,I am still cross about that

oooooooooh I am so vexed

light?? Did someone mention light?? [runs and hides in dark corner]

carlymarx · 23/06/2010 20:29

Geek - AfternoonsandCoffeespoons - clearly thinks so!

LadyBlahBlah - priceless. Reminds me of a story (urban myth?) about a confectionary production operative who, in a state of high dudgeon with his employers wrote "fuck off" through 8 miles of Blackpool rock

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 20:30

Jamie no we never had a trolley, but Mum would get the drop leaf table open with her linen tablecloth on,at the centre would be a jelly shaped like a rabbit.

I love viscount biscuits but we normally had either blue ribands or wagon wheels.

lal123 · 23/06/2010 20:31

Yoyos were better than viscounts - they had a chocolate bit at the bottom

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/06/2010 20:31

^Cwtchy6 - those were the days. We had crumpets, or sardines on toast. Mum made a coffee and walnut cake

MmeLindt · 23/06/2010 20:34

I don't really like peppers at all so YABU to even think about eating the buggers.

And, is this just a AIBU thread disguising the fact that you are boasting about making your own pizza in a "made from scratch" pretentious way?

I once had a Club biscuit without biscuit. No way was I complaining about it.

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 20:34

looks all misty eyed i used to love sardines on toast.

Do you remember sun pat cheese spread? It was a flourescent orange colour & in a jar like the peanut butter?I used to love it on crackerbreads.

MisSalLaneous · 23/06/2010 20:35

When I was small, I once complained to a chocolate company because one of the "caramel filled" chocolates in a tube didn't have caramel in it. They sent me a lovely letter and a box full of chocolates!

My dad smoked and in one of his packs, a cigarette was missing, so I took it upon myself to complain to the tobacco company. They wrote back saying a representative would be in touch. They never did make contact.

So, as a result, I live off chocolates but will never smoke in my life.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/06/2010 20:38

I've had a Kit Kat finger with no wafer not once, but TWICE!

silverfrog · 23/06/2010 20:38

I once had not one, but two (bought on consecutive days) Fry's peppermint cremes with no creme. They were bloody lovely - nice thick chunky chocolate, with a hint of mint.

Hassled · 23/06/2010 20:42

Yoyos were better than Viscounts. And sardines on toast are still very nice indeed, I can report. What are much less nice are Toast Toppers - I was compelled to buy some recently in a fit of nostalgia and they're not good at all. It turns out they look like vomit.

I love this thread - so much consensus. I feel a group hug coming up .

lal123 · 23/06/2010 20:46

My cousins gran once made us toast toppers without toasting the other side of the bread first - GROSS. Does anyone still buy toast toppers

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 20:47

at silverfrogs peppermint creams.

Does anyone remember the frys bar that had different flavours in it,was it called 5 senses or something like that?

I bought a packet of super noodles last week in a nostalgic mood & they were not as i remembered them to be.

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 20:48

My dh loves toast toppers.

Hassled · 23/06/2010 20:50

Yes to the Fry's Bar. There was pink, orange, white, green and something else. The orange tasted like a little piece of heaven. Can I start a campaign to get them back?

lal123 · 23/06/2010 20:51

about half way down cwtchy

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 20:52

Yes Hassled, please do,i can be your campaign manager.

Do i get to wear a badge & stuff?

Ipom · 23/06/2010 20:52

oooh..Sardines on toast.

Ipom rushes off to make some

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 20:54

Yes!! Lal thats the bar, bloody lovely they were,i remember getting one of them & a yorkie bar off my friend for my birthday.

lal123 · 23/06/2010 20:58

Could never eat Yorkie bars - they were too hard. I once lost a tooth eating a texan bar...

Think we are straying off the topic somewhat, but do you remember cabana bars?

CwtchyBlueMama · 23/06/2010 21:00

Yes i do,i wasnt keen on them.I broke a tooth once on a chunk of fruit & nut.

fustyarse · 23/06/2010 21:00

this thread is v good

lmao at 'best before: fuck off', love it

i have had the magical moment of nibbling in to a finger of kitkat and thinking (just for a couple of seconds) that there is no wafer

oh the joy..

and then i taste the crispy wafer....and my disappointment is overwhelming. but i still shove it right in.

lal123 · 23/06/2010 21:03

If anyone is wondering what to buy me for birthday/christmas/Thursday - please can I have this?

BelleDameSansMerci · 23/06/2010 21:04

Mint Viscount biscuits

And Texan bars.

Did anyone else have bought cake in their Sunday buffet tea? I was always pleased when mum hadn't had time to make a revolting coffee/walnut horror cake and we'd have something lovely like Battenberg or angel cake. Shop bought cakes not highly regarded by my parents

DinahRod · 23/06/2010 21:05

Tesco current offer: buy a packet of Pringles for 99p or 2 for £3.
