to never go on holiday with DH again!

DH drives me mad before EVERY holiday we go on. He is either totally self-centred (refuses to pack until the 11th hour) or finds totally random things to do that somehow have become really urgent.

Examples before this year's holiday include:

1. Deciding to take new car on (self-drive) holiday despite not having got the registration documents sorted in time, and having to source a spare wheel (involving a 150 mile round trip) 2 days before holiday begins, despite the fact that we have another car which would be more than adequate.

1. Deciding to mend the garden gate (for security reasons!) the night before the holiday, and then actually ending up building a new gate from scratch at 8 o clock at night! (The gate had been broken for 6+ months, and he had still not started any packing).

1. Suggesting that it only takes an hour or two to pack for a 2 week self-catering holiday, for a family of four, and generally taking no responsibility for packing anything whatsoever.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Pack you own stuff and the kids when you want to. Let your DH do what he wants and if it's at the 11th hour so be it - it's his fault if he doesn't pack enough stuff.

He should help pack general family stuff though, surely? There's a lot of stuff that needs sorting out for self-catering.

Too right BOF - it's an epic task.
