to get Chinese again?

Am starving. DP and I are meant to be losing weight and I have recently tutted at him. I am now craving Chinese (specifically chicken with cashews), but feel it would by hypocritical. He isn't due back for 45 minutes, so I can't ask him yet.

Views? What should I order?

Wordsonascreen · 20/06/2010 17:21

thats the idea

comprimise

JaneS · 20/06/2010 17:27

Yes, you are right. And very kind.

In all honesty, I was really going for delicious suggestions and kind words, as I don't really need to lose weight ... but I will now try to hold out until DP comes back and I will offer to make him a healthy stir-fry. Thanks

A bit of tough love here but really is 1000 calories + really worth it if you want to lose weight? Why not beans on toast instead - think how much better you'll feel in the morning.

pointydog · 20/06/2010 17:36

how much weight should you be losing?

cryhavoc · 20/06/2010 17:45

Have opened this looking for justification...cooked a mahoosive roast at lunchtime but really fancy Indian now...

Am thinking it's not too piggy if I go to spinning tomorrow night? (That's proof of how much I want that curry - I HATE spinning!)

sorry, that's no use to you. I am the devil on your shoulder, saying Do It.

McSnail · 20/06/2010 17:59

Well, I'm at this minute planning on convincing bloke that we need to get take-out curry for the second time this week.

It's veggie, so healthy, so in fact better than normal cooked dinner at home...

SkipHopJump · 20/06/2010 18:00

According to weight watchers chicken with cashews is only 6.5 points (without rice) and that's how many points I would usually allocate to an evening meal anyway.

But a stirfry will make you feel a lot healthier

JaneS · 20/06/2010 18:04

Skip, I choose to listen to you!

You are right ladies ... but I just hit 9 stone 10, and I do know I should stay on the wagon, but today is Sunday. I am grateful for the good advice because I think I will now get some healthy (ish) stir-fry veg rather than the chicken and fried rice I craved ... so thank you!

Slimming world is a "diet" plan that isnt a plan, food optimising- it is SOOOO easy to stick to. Possibly the only diet that isnt really a diet. FGS you can even have pork scratchings.

www.slimmingworld.com/healthy_eating/free_trial_menu.aspx meal suggestions]]

[[http://www.slimmingworld.com/faqs/faqs.asp] the faqs ]

You can have anything you want. Unlimited food of some kinds then some food is "synned" you have a certain amount of syns per day. You can drink alcohol too ( I dont really anyway, so its ok for me)

Chicken in oyster sauce with boiled rice is 5 syns. The rice is free, you can eat as much as you like. You get a booklet when you join up that tells you the value of everything, I believe you can also buy this in supermarkets but not seen it. The magazine is quite widely available and has good recipes in. None of the foods taste "diet" in my experience.

Ive gone from a size 14 ( wrong side of) to a size 10.

Love from 1foot x

hairytriangle · 20/06/2010 19:19

I fecking love Slimming World, I would highly recommend it as you don't feel like you are missing out - or go hungry - and I need to get back on it as I am 9st 10 (which some of you think is 'nothing' but is on the larger side of my healthy weight for my height) and I feel Heaaaaaaps better at 8 stone 7. And i'm getting to be on the wrong side of size 12 jeans and that's not good as I refuse to buy 14s.

BubbaAndBump · 20/06/2010 19:36

Sod it reddragon ~ get yourself a chinese takeaway - 9st something isn't awful (unless you're 4ft tall?!) - and the cashew nuts are gooooood. Steamed instead of egg-fried rice if you have to feel good.

Now I fancy a takeaway too - only they don't deliver unless I order loads, and DH is out, so unless I risk running to the takeaway round the corner really quickly >>hides from all the MNers' evil looks

Hai1988 · 20/06/2010 19:44

mmmmmmm really hungry now. So glad DH is on his way home with my chickin chow main, chips and prawn crackers
Wot its a sunday

monkeyfacegrace · 20/06/2010 19:48

vicbar · 20/06/2010 20:31

JaneS · 20/06/2010 21:30
