I suppose it shows how crap life in general is at the moment, yes?

amazing how therapuetic one good clean room can be.

poppy34 · 20/06/2010 12:43

There is something very satisfying about this- I love to see a nice clean sink after using barkeeper friend

blossum · 20/06/2010 12:59

I got some tips from Kim & Aggie on TV sad show yesterday (some really atrocious homes on display) so will be buying some white vinegar to add to water to clean my microwave.

lolapoppins · 20/06/2010 13:01

Nothing better than giving a grubby bathroom a good scrub and then seeing it sparkle. I have been known to leave it for a few days to make the satisfaction of doing a really thorough clean even better.

But I have absolutely no life at all.

runnybottom · 20/06/2010 13:04

I just got great satisfaction from cleaning the insides of the windows in the kitchen!

GypsyMoth · 20/06/2010 13:07

lola!!! lol i do that too....leave it to get a bit more dirty so a big clean will be more satisfying!!! lol,i really thought it was just me who did that!

lolapoppins · 20/06/2010 13:09

Sad really, isn't it?!

AhickeyfromKenickie · 20/06/2010 14:54

I just spent 2 and a half hours cleaning out from under teenage DS's bed (anything to get away from the World Cup). I filled 2 bloody black bags with crap! Old magazines, crisp wrappers, broken guitar strings, empty pop bottles, socks that have gone green with age-old stinkiness [shocked] And I can see the carpet again! How satisfying is that? I'm now going to have a cup of tea and a Snickers to celebrate, so you go and enjoy your clean bathroom satisfaction, I won't judge you if you don't judge me

blossum · 20/06/2010 15:47

Ahickey, you made me laugh.. I have done exactly the same on quite a few occasions. Grotesquely satisfying isn't it. Somethings don't bear identification they just head for
the bin!
I share the pain over the world cup too...

Fluffyone · 20/06/2010 19:25

I did this yesterday and it rather shamed us. The bathroom looks almost like new. We should clean it more often.
(I recommend Limelite gel by the way, for getting limescale off as if by magic. Sad eh?).

beammeupscotty · 20/06/2010 23:14

It is shamefully satisfying to get everything sparkly and clean smelling. I feel physically uncomfortable when the house is dirty and have to retire to the summerhouse with wine and chocolate if it is.
I have to leave it mucky sometimes so that lazy sod of a husband gets the hint and off his lazy arse. (He doesn't work and I do)

HouseofCrazy · 20/06/2010 23:17

Bliss is a house woken up to clean and tidy!! (as I mentioned on another thread) Seriously, I think there is nothing like it! (well there ARE a few things more enjoyable, certainly, but it always starts the day off with a smile, cranky toddlers notwithstanding!)
