I agree...but you ignore ignore ignore! when people piss you off..or take a break as suggested...I've just come back from a break..lol...scary when you think about it...taking a holiday from MN..

I've left and come back many times - it's a bit of an addiction that's hard to break. Fundamentally, I'm nosy and like to see what's happening in other people's worlds. The anonymity of the genre is probably what allows members to give vent to their most unpleasant sides but the same anonymity allows those who are feeling really low to ask for help that they couldn't access in RL. On balance I think MN is a force for good.

Yes there is good support but there is also very negative and somewhat rude responses here also.

I think you are right.
But I see that broadly as a good thing - I like knowing thatthere are people out there who are capeable of being wonderful as it makes me happy. And I like knowing thatthere are vile, angry and bullying types as it stops me being blase about the world my children and i step into.

I do think the good outweighs the bad, many times over.

The worst thing about mn is that so many people feel that they can pontificate on subjects that they know nothing about, zilch, nadda... It depresses me sometimes to see how many truly stupid people there are in the world.

On the plus side, I've learned a lot from the more intelligent posters.

I've seen people basically attacked with the most inane, ignorant rantings. It's really quite pathetic.

I leave and come back all the time. Always with the same name though...

I dunno - I don't get pissed off or anything by MN, but sometimes the predictability of responses is a bit tiresome. So I log off and shop on Ebay/ talk gash on another site do something else. The after a bit, I copme back, because I do like MN.
