To think that not labeling a bra for children 'bra' is not enough?

Was in M&S 2 days ago. They still have bra-like underwear for children marked for ages 7 or 8. It still looks like a bra even if it's not labeled 'bra'.
I think the trend for bra-top has never really gone away since bra-tops for women were first popularised in the 80's and that's fine but we don't need them for little children.
Couldn't the stores that have pledged to join the MN campaign please just stop selling them?

Some 8 year olds have developing breasts.

BitOfFun · 18/06/2010 22:04

Fair point, Shaz10. We need a link to judge, methinks.

vixma · 18/06/2010 22:04

I agree with Shaz10. Why should they not be able to choose to wear a bra..or a short crop.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 18/06/2010 22:04

link?

Shitemum · 18/06/2010 22:22

Have had a look at the website and all the bras on there are labeled 'older girls' but the ones I saw were labeled 6 - 7 years or 7 - 8 years old.
But don't mind me...

just don't buy it
dd wore those crop top ones at that age

pigletmania · 18/06/2010 22:37

I agree nothing wrong with it if its neutural/childike and not sexy looking. Some girls are more well developed at that age and need some support.

colditz · 18/06/2010 22:39

Some children of 7 or 8 need bras. Why should they be stuck in BORING LADY clothes just because they have the misfortune to get tits early?

BabyDubsEverywhere · 18/06/2010 22:47

Lots of ittle girls like to dress to not look like stinky boys, and i dont get the whole nothing to cover argument either, if that was the case then why do girls wear swimming costumes rather than shorts? they dont, girls are young women, and theres no harm in treating them as such. You'd have to be pretty screwed up to look at a childs crop top and find anything sexual. Unless you come up with a link to Marks and sparks child size nipple tassels i think you've lost this one.
