they wouldn't be fulfilling their job description and possibly given a verbal warning? The England team, that is?

the england team have other jobs. this is just a sideline, playing for england.

AuntieMaggie · 18/06/2010 21:12

Its ok - capello has asked me to play for them on weds

GypsyMoth · 18/06/2010 21:14

the algerian goalie is quite good!!

FabIsGettingFit · 18/06/2010 21:15

Capello has to take the rap. He shouldn't be playing 4-4-2.

onepieceoflollipop · 18/06/2010 21:15

If Rooney was in a "real" job then he would probably be sent for intensive anger management therapy. imo.

ronshar · 18/06/2010 21:15

Maybe if they thought they would lose a car each, for each half with no goals, in the might get their crap asses in gear.

GypsyMoth · 18/06/2010 21:16

onepiece....and a shave!!

Meglet · 18/06/2010 21:17

yes, and have to downsize to a normal house. And lose their swanky cars.

GypsyMoth · 18/06/2010 21:19

all my dc just watch becks swear!

sparklingchampagne · 18/06/2010 21:20

lorelilee I have just said that to my DH - if I did my job like they are doing theirs I would be sacked!
Not they they give a monkeys - why would you when you get paid £90grand a week!

And I don't even like football!

xxx

Meglet · 18/06/2010 21:22

TBB I just rewound it to see him swear

charleymouse · 18/06/2010 21:23

DH has just told me the koreans have been told if they let their country down they will be shot

onepieceoflollipop · 18/06/2010 21:24

Imagine if I just grabbed a a client's or colleague's clothing just because I was a bit irritable/frustrated? Rooney did that earlier. Yes, I know it's football, but it's not allowed on the pitch. Also it's not allowed in my office! same difference imo.

Put them on the naughty step It could replace the yellow card system

onepieceoflollipop · 18/06/2010 21:25

Can't see that catching on CharleyMouse

Vallhala · 18/06/2010 21:27

On the strength of the last two performances, could they get any other job?

ronshar · 18/06/2010 21:27

They get paid regardless. So what is the incentive to win?

charleymouse · 18/06/2010 21:28

Might make them play better tho obviously pre shooting.

ronshar · 18/06/2010 21:30

Perhaps if Steven G etc stopped shagging girls other than their wives they may focus on their actual jobs.

spidershavearrived · 18/06/2010 21:49

Pay them less and hope that passion fills the void!

lorelilee · 18/06/2010 23:03

to be fair, I don't think SG has been shagging around, Mr Cole and Mr Terry, yes. I have to agree that they are paid too much, they are not playing for the jersey - it should be an absolute honour to be picked for their country!

OP posts:
3LittleMonkeys · 18/06/2010 23:07

Get a grip it is only football NOT life and death... though may be after my coment!

Sassybeast · 18/06/2010 23:07

Wasn't fair - the opposition wore green. Camouflage shouldn't be allowed

TheCrackFox · 18/06/2010 23:08

I cannot understand how they are worth their pay packet.

I think the Koreans have the right idea.

lorelilee · 18/06/2010 23:10

3LittleMonkeys - yes, you are right, it IS only football - so why the fuck are they getting paid so much cash?

OP posts:
ronshar · 19/06/2010 00:05

A super injunction with Steveie G's name on it says other wise I'm afraid.

Never mind I gave up on football years ago.
