I sold an item tonight and the NEW ebayer with no feedback (I knew they would be a problem!) has now emailed and said they can't pay until the 28th of June. Surely this should have been a question to ask before the auction ended. I have also said no its not alright.

Am I being too harsh? I don't really want to wait that long or AIBU??

No, yanbu. get things moving quick so that you can do a second chance offer if necessary

motherlovebone, we kind of do. I have sold a few other bits but this was the most expensive thing that sold. Nearly all buyers I hvae dealt with in the past pay within a few days and I can get all the parcels sent out and money transferred from paypal which takes time!

I would wait if we didn't really need it. Not desperately need it but it will be nearly a months time by the time they pay and then we transfer money out etc....

All ebayers have to start with no feedback don't they? All the same YANBU and it is cheeky of them to mess you about.

Now you've said it's not alright it's too late to backtrack presumably. It depends really if it's an expensive item - if so you might as well wait before relisting in case they are genuine and just have a cash-flow prob. If it's not expensive then they're probably trying to wriggle out of it and you might as well relist.

so, tell them you are sorry, but need the money and cant wait.

I am waiting for a response from them after saying I couldn't wait. I can send a 2nd chance offer if they don't want it but need to know either way.
