To think people shouldn't let their dogs shit on my lawn?

Admittedly, this is isn't going to be a problem much more - a fence is going up this week followed by some particularly thorny roses to prick their sensitive bits if they think about raising a leg!

But, AIBU to think it is not acceptable to let dogs both loose and on a lead run (sometimes right into the middle) onto my lawn and shit on it?

I have even witnessed owners unclipping the lead so the animals can relieve themselves then clipping it back!!

Last week, I banged on the window and the woman motioned that it was okay as she had a bag!!!

I have just this second witnessed a terrier crouching down but it ran off without doing the dirty deed - prompted me to start this thread.

Its a big garden and i haven't had a fence for so long because i couldn't afford it but thats not an excuse?! Surely its pretty bloody obvious its my property!

So cross right now...

No YANBU. It shows total disrespect for your property. I don't have the problem with dogs, but do often have people walking right accross my front garden (it's on a corner so they walk accross rather than round).........I've even put a hedge up but they just walk through the opening in the hedge instead! Bloody rude and bloody irritating.

Waiting for one of the dog lovers to pop up and tell you YABU cos

you made it up
you're blowing it out of proportion

most owners wouldn't let this happen

YANBU. I get irritated by people who let their dogs shit anywhere unless they clear it up.

HowAnnoying · 16/06/2010 16:51

YANBU (providing you don't own cats)

Daft thread in this topic

no one is going to say yabu are they?!

It is very gross though

Lauries · 16/06/2010 16:52

Arghh diamondsandtiaras I have that too! It is SO rude!
They often trample into doggy doo whilst taking the short cut though which is something positive haha!

lol Chibi! Surprisingly, I actually like dogs. But not when they crap in my garden

chibi i doubt that many dog lovers would feel that way - it's possible to like dogs and still have basic good manners!!

Lauries · 16/06/2010 16:55

I'm sure the offending dog owners would say i am being unreasonable Compo

We've got dog crap on our lawn and it's disgusting. I'm a dog owner and on one occasional my delightful terrier ran off and crapped on someone's lawn. As well as bagging crap, I carry a water bottle, so if my dear little mutt does crap on someone's lawn I can try to wash away crap smudges [boak].

CastleDouglas · 16/06/2010 16:56

One occasion duh.

pearlym · 16/06/2010 16:57

YANBU - at lcal park cafe loads of dogs, wanderign about, coming right up to us, nosing nto legs etc, kids get v scared ,ownes look at me as if I have 2 heads when I ask them to keep dogs away from kids. what would they say if i let my kids wander up to themand start nuzzling their legs? not adog hater, just a hater of inconsiderate owners

Mingg · 16/06/2010 16:59

I too have a dog and YANBU

Lauries · 16/06/2010 17:00

aaah pearlym, I feel your pain!

I often wonder what these individuals would say if I sat down on their lawn and did the dirty deed! I'm cute and fluffy too

Somehow I don't think they'd be impressed!
