We'd been keeping our pregnancy secret until after the 12 week scan. Told our parents last night & after my Mum calling most of Suffolk to tell them the news, I'm now really worried that something's going to go wrong! So many people to 'untell'

The chance that anything will go wrong is very small indeed. So just relax and accept that your mum is very excited.

And congratulations.

Congratulations

We had to tell everyone at about 5 weeks this time as I have been very sick and people were starting to worry.
Like you I immeadiately worried something would go wrong but so far so good, 13 weeks today.
When I did have a little bleed at around 7 weeks everyone was really lovely and supportive, whereas if we hadn't told anyone then I would've had to go it alone.

It will probably be fine, but to echo what notso said, if there are problems at least people can be supportive rather than hurtful or difficult in ignorance.

I've had two mcs in ten months that DH and I had to do alone because we were adament we weren't going to tell anyone until the 12 week mark. TBH really wish I had blurted it out because while I might have found the sympathy a bit much, was really hard pretending to carry on as normal, and we're starting to get those "why aren't you two sprogging" comments that people (hopefully) wouldn't make if they knew.

YABatbutU. Congratulations on your pregnancy, now just relax.

sorry - realised that sounds a bit cassandra voice of doom ish, and really didn't mean it to.

Floopy21 · 16/06/2010 12:08

Thank you everyone, I know I'm just being silly and U really. This pregnancy lark is just all such a worry!

So sorry to hear about your mcs IHKAW.

Hi Floopy21, I'm in exactly the same situation as you. We had our 12 week scan this week and started to tell our closest friends. Next thing I know DH has put it on Facebook and literally hundreds of people now know. I'm really worried now!

lazarusb · 16/06/2010 14:10

Congrats! Don't worry- I had to tell my employer when pg with dd when I was 7 weeks because I had chronic cystitis and had to ask a colleague to go to Boots because I couldn't have made the walk there! Good luck
