AIBU to wish the bathroom would stay clean for a day

OK so i am not the most houseproud person,I can cheerfully live with dust and cobwebs, getting away with the bare minimum and having a thorough blitz now and then

BUT

I do like a clean bathroom, so, when I have made the bath, loo, sink and mirrors all clean and sparkly, and decluttered all the bottles and jars and bath toys off the edge of the bath and windowsill

AIBU to wish it would stay clean for even a day. instead of my lot geting toothpaste all over, everything left out in the wrong place, flannels and towels put back badly so they end up on the floor.........

YANBU

Sometimes I think back to how my house used to look in the days before I had kids and I feel like crying.

BigFatSepticToe · 14/06/2010 13:23

oh how i dream of having an en suite, not only would it be tidy and free from toothpaste splatters, but i would actually have the haven of a hideaway where I could have a nice long UNINTERUPTED soak in my nice clean bath ON MY OWN

thank you, rant over! LOL

Know how you feel, really annoys me. I want a bathroom just for me and no-one else!

Easywriter · 14/06/2010 16:57

Can I second you in this request BigFatSepticToe?

DH chooses to shave as soon as I've scrubbed the bathroom to within an inch of its life. The 6 year olds suddenly have accidents despite being potty trained aeons ago and the 2 year old gets to grips with the toothpaste or enormous diprobase bottle and smears said toiletry on all surfaces.

Grrrr!

I feel your pain

I feel your pain - I have to clean our bathroom every time I go in there. One of my best memories of our last holiday is the bathroom I had all to myself in the rented villa. DP and the pigs used the other one and I never went in there.

Yep I am with you!

And could my teenage daughters remember to:

Chuck empty shampoo bottles in the BIN (last count of empties in the shower was 5!!).
Return MY mascara, nail clippers, tweezers and moisturizer to MY bathroom when they have finished nicking using mine.
NOT use ds's baby shampoo as bodywash when they have got in the bath and realised they forgot their soap!

Oh and please please please pick up the towels and bathmats so the whole room doesn't smell of damp musty towels!

I have an ensuite that is lovely and sparkling at the moment- I cleaned it 2 days ago and dh is away til tomorrow! So by Thursday it will be minging again!

It is not ecofriendly but I find disposable bathroom wipes are fantastic for just giving it a regular wipe over.
