Obviously disappointing footie result... However, got text from husband, who is away with work this week, saying that he's cursed, sweared, offended and kicked furniture (at apartment) and thinks he may have a broken foot and hand! WTF? Pretty glad I wasn't around to witness that... Way I see it, we either need to go all the way or be kicked out soon. Can't take weeks of this...

...nope - far too late. The build up has been driving me potty, never mind the actual GAME.

We will get to quarter finals, then out. Mark my words

I enjoy the World Cup but the sooner England go out, the sooner I can do my job properly again (I teach teenagers - they get progresively more hysterical the longer England remain in)

YANBU - it is just a game

Broken and hand and foot having a paddy cause some overgrown schoolboys lost a completely pointless game!!

I know! And I know it's gutting but people seem to lose all perspective with the world cup. I've namechanged as embarrassed at his shameful reaction...

But they didn't even lose? Did they?

LittleMissHissyFit · 13/06/2010 12:17

never too late to be reminded that it's only a flaming game....

I agree the overkill on hype this time around is monumental! for this reason alone I will not be bothering with it. I will use the key game times to go do my shopping, I will enjoy the peace and quiet!

YANBU!

when we wont the world cup in 66 our very first game was a 1-1 draw too.

When Italy won the woreld cup in 96 they were in the first group with USA and also drew 1-1 with them.

it is a good omen.

AlCrowley · 13/06/2010 13:47

"We"? You were there playing were you Gigantaur?

Gigantaur · 13/06/2010 13:48

It is never to early to point out that football is just a game. Sadly, it is equally true to say that it is always too late. The footie nuts have had it drummed into them since early childhood to be obsessed. Poor dears. All I can do to contribute is try and make sure my DS grows up to be utterly ambivalent about it all.
