DD1 said I look like an aging hippy and not to expect to be seen with her if I wear it.

that's a result then

lol

Gracie123 · 12/06/2010 12:09

How old is DD1?

I only ask, because she may have a fair point, but it's up to you what you wear. Can you accept the consequence that your daughter may shun you in public?

It's your right to wear what you want, but hers to choose who she hangs out with (assuming she is old enough to be unsupervised whilst out and about)

We had a similar problem with my mum and some neon hammer pants in the 90s. Unfortunately she worked at my school and alas there was no escape...

It's your job to embarrass your children.

Team it with a hat.

DD1 is 14. I am so embarrasing.

My new coat is slightly patchwor raving hippy alternative but it is beautiful.

I also bought a nice skirt off the solstice rail. it has a fringe

I think I may be able to see your DD's point

Seriously, you have a skirt with a fringe?

3BreastsInMyShirt · 12/06/2010 12:17

i think i may be a little hormonal but i think it's pretty.

i shall wear both to hug the stones on the 21st.

I'm just wondering why my local charity shops don't have a solstice rail.

Do you live in Glastonbury?

tethersend · 12/06/2010 12:20

There is a (secondary) school near where I work where one of the mothers turns up in one of these to pick her teenage daughter up.

You should definitely get one- the coat will then be the least of DD's worries.

diddl · 12/06/2010 12:50

Do you have a pic, OP?

3BreastsInMyShirt · 12/06/2010 12:55

can't find my camera but if i do i'll take one. it is very pretty.

If you dont embarrass her she will have to find something else to have teenaged angst over - you are saving her from all sorts of neer do well activities BUY IT!

diddl · 12/06/2010 12:58

Did you say it´s patchwork?

Sounds just the sort of thing I would love-and my daughter-12yr old fashionista would hate.

3BreastsInMyShirt · 12/06/2010 13:01

patchwork and made in guatamala it doesn't have buttons but a large and dangly silver broche thing

and it smells a bit of patchouli

3Breasts, it doesn't sound like my kind of thing at all but I love the idea of it and the Solstice rail! Despite my penchant for a more Audrey Hepburn-esque wardrobe, I'm a tree hugger at heart...

skymoo · 12/06/2010 18:08

we want a piccie! sounds fab btw

NadiaWadia · 12/06/2010 18:41
