He's just got back from a cycle ride to find me on MN.
Cue huge hissy fit about talking to strangers, don't I have enough friends in RL, time I'm wasting, it's a beautiful day etc etc.
Well seeing as I spent the morning taking dd to singing, been to supermarket, cooked tea-oh and been for a run- I think I'm entitled to a bit of time on here.

I was very calm and told him he was controlling and bullying.
And am now back on.

Greensleeves · 06/06/2010 19:06

I tell mine to get fucked

HTH

WellMeantHellBent · 06/06/2010 19:08

Ha ha, not just ignoring him but starting a thread to rant about it! Does he have a point?

SixtyFootDoll · 06/06/2010 19:10

Mine will come in from work in a minute and will tut and say ( with heavy sarcasm) ' Talking to your friends again?'

I just give him that look , you know the thousand yard death stare.

hocuspontas · 06/06/2010 19:14

I see dp coming. I just flip to MS Word (I'M NOT MNing I'm trying to finish this essay!) or Amazon (I'M NOT MNing I'm trying to find your sister a present!). In fact I'm so successful he's actually queried why I don't MN much these days.

SixtyFootDoll · 06/06/2010 19:15

Hocus - like your style!

deaddei · 06/06/2010 20:05

Yes I do that hocus.
He is such an arse at times.
He has spent hours watching the cricket this week

By the way he thinks you're all man hating harpies

Ah right he gets to indulge his hobby of a bike ride when you have cared for your DC and home all day but you not allowed to MN. Are you allowed to do anything other than serve your family?
He sounds like a first class prat and very controlling.

lazarusb · 06/06/2010 20:14

My dh spends lots of time on Twitter etc. I think he's a bit scared of what I might be saying on mn. I tell him as long as he behaves he has no worries...

clam · 06/06/2010 20:24

I have this too. Thought I'd perfected the art of minimising the screen at speed when he pops his head round the door, but I've been outed.
So his sarcastic, "busy?" gets met with a "p* off, darling, and put the kettle on xxx"

slushy06 · 06/06/2010 20:38

I have this dp just looks at me with puppy eyes now because any comment will mean a huge row.

He does have a point though I do spend too much time on here (not that he will EVER hear me admit that though )

NetworkGuy · 06/06/2010 21:13

Rather than minimising, you might try to have a second 'non MN' tab open in your browser, and flip using ctrl-T

(Or if you type short posts, just hit ctrl-W to close the tab, and you can reopen it with shift-ctrl-T in either Firefox or Google Chrome - I'll check later with Opera!)

elmofan · 06/06/2010 21:22

Glad to know its not just my DH that sulks when I'm on MN , When i first joined he accused me of being on a dating site

roslily · 06/06/2010 21:37

My dh thinks you are man hating witches too and mocks me. But he spends hours on facebook and some weird dragon game so I tell him to sod off.

He is also paranoid about what I write about him, but i point out that my whole world doesn't revolve around him!
