to be a bit pissed off that all football boots are "boys"

I know it doesn't really matter, but am looking for football boots for dd2 for her birthday. She's a member of our local kids football club and for her birthday wants footie boots, shin pads, footie socks - the works.

It just pisses me off that instead of listing the smaller sizes as "children's" they're all "boys"

I know I can buy her boys and it won't matter - she doesn't exactly want pink barbie ones or anything, but the principle just irritates me

it's not that I can't find any "girly" ones, it's the way they're described as "boy's" rather than "children's"

You can get girls boots, dd had some the other year. They were black but had pink flashes along the sides. Think they were size 1 or 2, can send you them if you like.

Try footyboots4kids - very good site and they have girl's boots.

No, you are definately not BU! I play football myself (and have done for the last 12 years - gosh I'm getting old!! :S) and have to buy "mens" boots for myself more often than not. Yes, its getting better, and there ARE girls and womens boots now, but the range is still pitiably small. It's RIDICULOUS!

Well would you like them for future years ? I have three subsequent boys, they won't do pink. And yes I curse dh for buying them

I don't know who makes them but the girls in the football clubs by us, have bright pink ones, pink and silver ones, pink and black.

It does appear if you want girly ones they have to have pink - i.e. no lilac or anything.

Arsenal players are quite girly. Can you find out where they get theirs?

Oi, Arsenal's not girly you lot, they're definitely more manly than that Chelsea bunch That said they have a fantastic women's team, so maybe ask where they get their boots?

Same issue here, I've signed up for a local women's football (arg, socccer) team and can't find any women's boots. Will probably have to order them from the UK and shipping costs a bomb!!

YANBU! This used to piss me off HUGELY when I used to play. I always had to buy my boots from the boy's section, because men's were too big. What makes them male or female??? Grrr.

Unfortunately my dd isn't remotely interested in football.

It wouldn't actually be much for them to be classed as "children's" and "adults" really, would it?
