Ds and I are off out tonight to a music thing for families. Dh wasnt interested and was going to stay in with dd. Then a mate asked him out and he now wants to find a sitter for dd. I am of the opinion that if he doesnt want to come with us its mildly sad to be binned for a mate who he sees a lot of the time anyway.

does that make sense?

Yep, makes sense to me! It would make me cross even if it's not completely logical to be so. So, YANBU.

mama707 · 05/06/2010 17:20

So I am not just being unfair? OH ok, he is fine with it and says "ok no problem" etc. just wondered if I was being mean.

I think YABU the music thing for families wasnt his thing so wants to do something else, if he got you tickets to go to see something you werent interested in you might want to do something else instead too.

mama707 · 05/06/2010 17:21

well tbh its more for ds. Its a big event, not like "Plinky and Plonky have fun at the fair puppet show"

Did you ask him beforehand if he wanted to go?

Sammyuni · 05/06/2010 17:22

I don't think it has anything to do with you specifically more likely to do with the fact he may find the activity your watching boring.

But yeah it does make sense to be a bit annoyed

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 05/06/2010 17:22

You are being mean.

You are going out, why shouldn't he?

mama707 · 05/06/2010 17:23

yes i offered we ALL went, but dd wasnt interested and is very busy tomorrow so dh said he would stay in. Am not at all normally tight about going out.

OP posts:
mama707 · 05/06/2010 17:23

ah i AM being tight.

mama707 · 05/06/2010 17:24

although... if we all went out then he comes back with us I can have a drink and NOT have to drive

OP posts:
MrsHarkness · 05/06/2010 17:24

Sorry I still dont see a problem with him going out with his mate.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 05/06/2010 17:24

Family music thing - think I would rather have a drink with a mate than that!! I know for certain DH would!!

Sammyuni · 05/06/2010 17:32

You can be annoyed but don't take it out on the guy sometimes things which there is technically nothing wrong with annoy people a bit.

honie · 05/06/2010 17:41

I would rather be out with a mate too, but no doubt would be the parent who has to take the child to the event they (not me) want to go to.
