......the cricket season.
Cricket takes fathers away from their family responsibilities all Saturday afternoon and evening, and don't even get me started on how wives/mothers girlfriends of cricketers are expected to do cricket teas!

and god it is SO SLOW to watch and you don't even get to see their legs!

Football = God's own game.

Cricket = a chance to chill out in the sunshine with nothing more demanding troubling you than the sound of leather on willow.

Our village team will be playing on the green on Saturday, and I shall be there, weather permitting. It's a fine excuse to relax.

Ive learnt to embrace it I take a picnic the kids takes bikes, a football and cricket set and we spend the day.
Although it is like packing for a week away with 3 DC!

Just to add making the teas seems great compared top when they start asking you to do the scoring - sooooo boring.
