...cartoon character!

God I wish I could be more like Humf's mum (...and no, I don't mean blue and hairy!!).

She's calmness personified. She never get's rattled and she never loses her cool. I spend my life running round like a headless chicken, barking orders and losing my cool.

I'm a shit mum and I want to be like Humf's mum

Well you would be like Humf's mum if you had an unnaturally well-behaved child like Humf!

What's she got to get rattled about? As far as I can see he plays really nicely by himself, his Uncle pops round regularly to play with him and take him out and he's got friends who live next door/on the floor below to play with.

Life is sweet for Mummy Humf...

TrinityTrinityTrinity · 03/06/2010 08:39

I'm with mrs gravy

humf never does a think wrong

plonker · 03/06/2010 08:41

Ah but you see, she warned him and warned him about carrying his lunch on his front - he didn't listen and he fell on it, then he sat on, it was all squished and ruined and not once did she utter "I told you so ..."

What a girl hairy thing ...

You are not alone. Mummy Pig makes me feel very inadequate sometimes. She's so patient and never loses her rag at George and Peppa and they are much more of a handful than Humf.

plonker · 03/06/2010 08:44

My dd2 (7yo) even asked me why I can't be more like Humf's mum

Well if that's the naughtiest thing he's done then I'm still impressed. I'd have asked my DD why she couldn't be more like Humf!!

plonker · 03/06/2010 08:51

Good response MrsG, why didn't I think of saying that?!

Nifa86 · 03/06/2010 15:42

Well it's easy for Humf's mum shes always pawning her child off on everyone else. Poor Loon's mum seems to do all the childcare around there or Humf's uncle. I agree mummy pig makes me feel very bad, she has endless wholesome family activites planned and never gets angry (even when they broke her computer) she does feed them a lot of spaghetti though!

heth1980 · 03/06/2010 15:46

Yes but mummy pig only has to maintain her calm and patience for 5 minutes at a time..........imagine what could happen if the programme was on for an hour

gingernutlover · 03/06/2010 15:51

and surely after all those years spent married to daddy pig she's simply given up anyway

girlsyearapart · 03/06/2010 15:52

The best one was when Peppa woke them up at 5am on her birthday.
And they had a jolly chuckle and started the celebrations

welshgirlintherain · 03/06/2010 16:01

Read the OP and immediately thought "yep....I feel inadequate compared to mummy pig"..glad am not alone -am also very of Frances's mummy who not only deals very well with a precocious (sp?) pita of a child/badger with loving patience and understanding but also holds down a career and didn't even lose her temper when she had been up all night with a very poorly baby badger and Frances was being a demanding little madam......(skulks off thread in total shame as realises spends far too much time watching & analysing childrens programmes...must get a life) !

MrsGravy · 03/06/2010 16:47

Oh god, I hate Frances. I think she's just horrible!! So her mum can't be that great if she's managed to raise such a bratty little badger!

pjmama · 03/06/2010 18:27

I firmly believe that Humf's Mum and Mummy Pig are on some kind of calm-inducing drug. No other explanation for it, it's just not normal! Probably slipping some to the kids too...

lidofabiro · 03/06/2010 18:27

She's a cartoon for a reason.

BelleDameSansMerci · 03/06/2010 18:32

My DD is more like Wallace than Humf...

BelleDameSansMerci · 03/06/2010 18:33

I'd like to be Nanny Plum.

waitingforbedtime · 03/06/2010 18:37

I have no idea who Humf is!

BelleDameSansMerci · 03/06/2010 19:05

waiting you clearly need to stay in more!

blackflyinyourchardonnay · 03/06/2010 19:26

I'm more like Pingus' mum. Always shouty and "get out"y. Wing Finger pointed at the door.
