As a child I had a one legged pigeon called monty. He couldn't land properly and would list to one side in an amusing fashion. So yabu, pigeons make good pets.

I find geese far more offensive than pigeons. More poo, louder honking, more agressive, smellier. Geese are the real denizens of the avian world.

So you want to kill any wildlife you find offensive? Pigeons are much maligned for doing what comes naturally. The only other species that can surpass the pigeon in terms of being noisy, crapping everywhere and indiscriminately mating are humans. I don't hear any cries for a mass cull in that area?

And bats, rats and mice.

YANBU mrsdrowenhunt I hate pigeons, they are diseased, disgusting, noisy, they stare at you if you try to eat your lunch in the park, coming closer with their beady little pus-filled eyes, i mean why should i give them my crumbs, demanding bastards... back to topic.

I totally support the idea in my area to bring in a couple of trained hawk/ falcons to bring the numbers down. They ruin the historic buildings by either covering them with distructive crap or having to cover them with spikes

I do have them everywhere as I am yards away from a small wood.I sleep in a loft conversion so they do wake me up, as do the magpies, but I don't hate them.
