AIBU to be pissed of with the number of dance groups getting through to Saturdays final
We have had 2 semi finals and have 1 dance group,1 dancer and a bloody dancing dog not to mention a group of 12 yr old singers through
young people should not be allowed to vote as they wont be watching the RVP anyway
can anybody please tell me what was wrong with the man who swallowed things (now thats talent)

Bloody kids nowerdays know sod all about alent. They just vots for the prettyist looking faces

HecateQueenOfWitches · 02/06/2010 13:55

Why won't young people be watching the rvp?

I don't suppose it really matters. It's all a pile of crap anyway.

And yes, kids vote for the prettiest face. Or the person their mates are voting for.

And it's making a shed load of money for someone.

I think the best thing to do is to ignore the whole thing.

Musukebba · 02/06/2010 13:58

Yes even the wood-chopper had to sing a song to appear progressive.

I think Her Maj will like the dancing dog though.

Wordsonascreen · 02/06/2010 14:01

I've realised I can't spell regurgitator.

But I thought he should have gone through.

Singers should be on X factor.

Dancers should be on ..errr that Davina show

Dogs should be in a kennel

HecateQueenOfWitches · 02/06/2010 14:06

but it's 'talent', isn't it? So that means any kind - including singing and dancing.

Wordsonascreen · 02/06/2010 14:10

I'm just grumping because I can't sing and I dance like Chandler from Friends.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 02/06/2010 14:12

So what is your talent?

you're not that guy who balances a spoon on the end of his nose, are you?

violethill · 02/06/2010 14:13

I wouldn't mind if there was genuine talent, but most of those dance groups are distinctly mediocre. Sort of thing you have in the end of term show at school. Charming and fun for people who know them, but very run of the mill for the general public.

Mind you, I struggle to see wood chopping as entertainment either. If he's been genuinely 'WOW', like chopping at the speed a top chef chops carrots, then fair enough, but he really wasn't any great shakes.

The swallowing man definitely has a talent of sorts, just not sure how it would go down at the Royal Variety Performance!

PrivetDancer · 02/06/2010 14:13

The whole streetdancing thing is getting very boring, yes. Diversity were fab and different (at the time), but we need something new this year. Those kids singing were bloody awful imho.

The dog to win!

expatinscotland · 02/06/2010 14:14

That group of acrobats/gymnasts do have talent, though.

PrivetDancer · 02/06/2010 14:16

Yes, I don't really class them as a dance act.

Those girls in the high heels last night though! Embarassing to watch.

violethill · 02/06/2010 14:17

Those singing kids were an embarrassment.

Like a very average group of Yr 7 boys getting up and doing something after half an hour in their bedroom putting together a 'show'.

I wonder how many entrants will cringe in a few year's time?!

The acrobats are genuinely good, and different from previous winners.

Would love Chandi to win though!!

expatinscotland · 02/06/2010 14:18

I'd like the acrobats to win.

They were like Cirque du Soleil!

Spatchadoodledo · 02/06/2010 14:27

I liked the bouncer - he should have gone through rather than the boys.

pranma · 02/06/2010 17:39

I like Chandi and Spelbound best so far.

deaddei · 02/06/2010 17:46

Last night was particularly embarrassing.
The dog was good though.
I do wonder if the Queen actually sees any of this and thinks "Christ no, not the wood chopper".
Maybe she votes lots of times to ensure her fave gets through.

Musukebba · 02/06/2010 18:26

Haha yes if she has any sense there'll be a room full of flunkeys with mobiles, all texting away to skew the result.

What I'd like to see is the public at large getting a collective sense of humour, and voting the singing wood-chopper, the year 7 warblers, and the Lady Gaga impersonator through just to make Her Maj's evening something to really remember.

AliGrylls · 02/06/2010 18:44

I liked the acrobats and the woodchopper.

Agree though it should be a mixture of acts through to the final - however, in saying that some of the other acts were terrible.

sockmonkey · 02/06/2010 18:47

The Gymnasts were awsome. I'd love them to win. What they do is spectacular.
Street dance... meh. We've already had a street dance group win.

It's fairly obvious that they put some tat through to final shows to ensure the better stuff looks even better IYKWIM. Not in a million years would the wood chopper guy get through to live shows if it was really about talent.

mumbar · 02/06/2010 18:48

so far spellbound have my vote

Jasonthunderpants · 02/06/2010 18:54

give the wood chopper a chance.
I thought he was very funny. We need more entertaining acts like that
As anybody seen the old clip from a talent show of the man hitting himself on the head with a tea tray in tune to music?
Now that is what made this country Great.

Jasonthunderpants · 02/06/2010 20:26

DP is watching BGT again and i cannot believe it

OP posts:
mumbar · 02/06/2010 22:05

ha the dancers were not the favs tonite. Think one swallowed a very bitter pill

mollymawk · 02/06/2010 22:13

I'm still annoyed that the bloke who ate the ring didn't get through
(even though actually he was quite sick-making)

Jasonthunderpants · 04/06/2010 20:27

more bloody dancers on tonight. I want the pole dancer to win (all meat and no gravy)

OP posts:
Jasonthunderpants · 06/06/2010 19:28
