to use a cushion

  • my wife bought a new kitchen table and chairs
  • I wasn't there - I was perfectly happy for her to choose them
  • they are very nice
  • but the chairs are a little bit low for the table
  • so I sit on a cushion
  • which drives her mad - especially if we have visitors

We can't really afford to replace them.

Should I

  • quit with the cushion thing already
  • don't mention it, but quietly keep on using it
  • something else...

She is a minx

I'd say.

Are you a minx, SpringHeeledJack, or just an overzealous embroiderer with a penchant for stubborn men?

isn't mumsnet brilliant?
armed with everyone's ideas I sat up (on my cushion) into the small hours last night and finally found these

Aren't they clever? I have ordered eight sets. I have to say that did seem a bit expemsive at Aus$ 446 plus p&p, but you get what you pay for I always so, so I am sure they are top quality.

I can't wait to see Mrs S' face when they arrive, and problem solved. I will be sure to post here to let you all know how it goes.

oh classy LOL

I reckon you should just purchase a piles cushion, u can get classy faux leather ones with the ring hole in the middle. Someone at work uses one - then you can go for the sympathy vote

stubbornhubby · 05/06/2010 18:19

hey springheeledjack

how are you getting on with the embroidery?
it's just that I might have another project for you

At the risk of springheeledjack expiring in a Bronte-esque swoon over her tatting, perhaps I could suggest these?

PigletJohn · 06/06/2010 17:29

I was going to suggest you put your wallet in your back pocket.

I do that, and women in bars think I'm tall

SpringHeeledJack · 06/06/2010 18:12

what on earth is wanking, stubbornhubby?

I've looked all through Kirstie Alsopp's Book Of Country Crafts, but there's no mention of it

...maybe it's something foreign?

[suspicious]

ooops I don't know what I was thinking of with that link, I must have been drunk [grovel] I don't even fully understand it myself. Is it something to do with football?

I'm going back to sit my cushion
