I'm one of those sad people on facebook who has lots of friends who aren't really friends I speak to often if you know what I mean.

Anyway earlier I was looking through photos when I was bored and there are a couple from different people I find abit shocking.

One has a baby who is about 5 months old with a fag hanging out of it's mouth. Another of a different baby has what looks to be a cannabis joint in it's mouth that is lit. What makes it worse is the comments under the photos which say things such as 'PMSL good get him started early lol' and the grandmother of one of the babies 'likes this'

I just feel there is something wrong about doing this for a 'laugh' and posting it on facebook. I really feel like saying something to them, but doubt it will make a difference. So AIBU to be disgusted?

Cull them and tell them why.

LadyBlaBlah · 30/05/2010 20:55

Do you really need to ask?

BythewayItsStillMe · 30/05/2010 20:56

I'd do the same as Wellies, send them a message, tell them how you feel and then delete them as a friend.

Don't think I'd want them on my list.

MrsRhettButler · 30/05/2010 20:59

i have a friend who did this with his young sister, (he is a teenage boy himself so probably just thought it was a laugh) but i commented and told him exactly what i thought and that he should get the photo off!

after that other people commented and said similar

VengefulKitty · 30/05/2010 20:59

I'm with LadyBlaBlah.

Do you really need to ask?

violethill · 30/05/2010 21:01

Er, yes of course its disgusting.

And I certainly wouldn't want to look at any photos like that. One of my dd's was looking at a 'friend of a friends' facebook the other night, the girl in question is a teenage mum and had similar shocking type photos. Not with fags, but, for example, a picture of her little girl (about 12 months) cuddled up on a sofa with a boy of a similar age, with captions such as 'Chardonnay and Jayden get lurved up' and 'Chardonnay checks out Jayden'. My dd was disgusted.

BritFish · 30/05/2010 22:22

Chardonnay?

yeah, these pictures are awful, but if you're in the minority to objecting they probs wont take them off.
you can report pictures though! would you do that?

wukter · 30/05/2010 22:24

Are they real photos or photoshopped?
If so it's just bad taste but bad enough taste to defriend them IMO.

MrsSawdust · 30/05/2010 22:27

Yuk. De-friend immediately. No need to explain why.

EnvelopeDuvet · 30/05/2010 22:28

Right click on the pics, copy and save. Forward to NSPCC. Fucking disgusting.

Rollmops · 30/05/2010 22:32

Chavs...[disgusted]

I knew someone who done something similar. Had the (very young) baby propped up with a can of cidar and a fag hanging out of his mouth.

Vile and disgusting and totally chavvy. Why people display these photos proudly on the net, I don't know.

OneFucker2Many · 30/05/2010 22:46

it is awful. poor babies.

dont really see the disgrace about your friends photos though violet. the comments seem a bit but the photos sound harmless.

Nope, I must have a sense of humour malfunction. Like watching kids and animals hurt themselves and its videoed and put on tv so people can get some money out of it. People on the videos think it is hysterical. They are probably the ones taking these photos.

Oh no you have just made me take my video I have of ds off of facebook. I have one of those recycle boxes for cans and you have to wash the cans before you put them in there. DS took a fosters can out of the box (it was empty and had been thoroughly washed) and walked into the front room with it. DP had a video on his phone of me chasing ds around the front room trying to get it off of him, he sent it to me on facebook... I thought it was funny but now wondering if it was vile... What do you all think?? DS is 15 months... eak..

itsybitsy08 · 31/05/2010 09:28

Rasputin i thought that photo was funny - and totally harmless!
Use abit of common sense, a photo like that is not in the same leauge as a lit joint or ciggie in a babys mouth!

Bumpsnowjustplump, i think that video sounds funny!

misdee · 31/05/2010 09:39

my non-drunk baby

dexifehatz · 31/05/2010 22:58

i had a shock when i looked at my DD 11yrs Facebook friends pages; a paedophiles paradise of pre teen girls with make up caked on and posing with lollipops with nicknames such as candykisses and babylips...vomit inducing...shock

tootyflooty · 31/05/2010 23:08

dexifehatz, an 11 year old shouldn't really have face book, she would have had to lie about her age, as my 12 year old did. but you can set the pricvacy setting so anyone just searching for her can't see any info until she has accepted them as a friend, so no random people searching would be able to see any photos she had put on . I also log in as my dd sometimes to check stuff that is on there. I have deleted some posts if I feel they are inappropriate

chegirlmonkeybutt · 31/05/2010 23:10

I have a pic of DD holding a (n unopened) can of lager to her mouth.

Tis cute and funny.

Fags and spliffs I wouldnt do.

When i first joined FB a 'friend' sent me a photo of a young girl eating a huge penis shaped icecream lolly. She sent it with a comment 'now thats what I call an icecream LoL!' It was foul and I told her. This was a 'friend' who had recently accused her ex OH of sexually abusing her DD . Fecking horrible
