Last night I was getting everything ready for todays day out and asked ds1 to get me his shorts ready to iron them....cue a 35-45 minute tantrum. Cutting a long story short I didn't react other than to say you are wearing them and thats the end of it.

So there he was screaming, crying, punching doors and walls, kicking the walls and being a general PITA because he couldn't get his own way and wear clothes that look ridiculous together.(purple and black shorts and a red, black and grey top). He was in the living room doorway screaming and collapsed on the floor now he has a condition which makes him pass out but this was self inflicted so i left him where he was stepped over him and carreied on doing what i had been. When he got up maybe a minute or so later he said "You don't care do you" and continued his tantrum.

Was IBU to have not pandered to him and just ignored him?

YANBU.

I think I remember from your other posts that he's got behavioral issues?

Still, I think I would do the same thing.
