I was chatting to a friend earlier on the phone.. and he suddenly shrieked: "are you smoking?!". When I replied that yes, yes I was, he went on a rant about how disgusting it sounded...

He was eating his lunch whilst on the phone, something I find pretty disgusting too but I didn't mention it.

Am I being unreasonable to call him and tell him he was out of line? I feel really embarassed and ashamed now, like I was caught doing something really bad!

I hate it when people eat while on the phone to me, its vile hearing someone munching away, ive never heard anyone smoking though
next time you speak to him eat something noisy like crisps and talk with your mouth full and say this is what you sound like when your eating you disgusting pig, surely smoking just sounds like your breathing?

What a prig he sounds. Kill him.

Don't kill him. You might drop your cigarette.

my sis used to have a go at me if I smoked while on the phone to her, she didn't see it as a problem if she went to loo while on phone though . TBH my sis has a go at me about smoking full stop (bloody born-again non-smokers!)

there is no way I would go on the loo, whilst speaking on the phone YUK!!
