Skips prettily about the vast empty potentiality of the empty Hall and awaits.

Oh Captain!

Alas, I am unsure of the intentions of my chevalier...I bumped into him in the del, and while we did chat, I felt no lurve from him...could I be mistaken in his heart?

Mayhap he is just shy....

Hullygully · 04/06/2010 11:48

Did you drop ypur handkerchief at his feet? It's a must.

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 04/06/2010 11:52

ah, now there's an idea....

He did say the rhubarb crumble was lovely.....

Hullygully · 04/06/2010 11:55

Do you think you caught him off guard in the deli? I think you have to play it cool and wait for more signals...not something I've ever been any good at, I must say.

I fear we may yet have need of Captain darcy's horsewhip.

MadameDefarge · 04/06/2010 12:04

Yes, indeed. I also might have been radiating doom, having just discovered I have lost a cheque of over £1K and the rent is overdue...

Hullygully · 04/06/2010 12:06

Yes, that is not breathy suggestiveness in an arbour by any stretch. How rudely doth real life trample in upon our fancies. Bide your time, Mimi, and all good things shall come to you. And get a replacement cheque.

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 04/06/2010 12:12

Will get replacement next week...

He was building raised beds in his garden. How utterly gorgeous and metrosexually macho of him! He said he thought sunken beds were passe, and I agreed, saying they were a bit seventies and shag pile....

so there was a tiny bit of banter...

Hullygully · 04/06/2010 13:36

Did you blush when you said "shag" pile? Or wink suggestively? I hope you are making the most of such opportunities.

Sunken beds? Did they pass me by?

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 04/06/2010 14:53

well, I too was unfamiliar with the work of sunken beds apart from in the boudoir, but I am hoping it was some kind of Freudian slip....

Gibbon · 04/06/2010 20:34

Oh it sounds like a field day for a flirty conversation, sunken beds, shag pile...oh the carry on lines running through my head right now.

I would play it cool now as Hully suggests, friendly but not overly so, a slow smile with a twinkle in your eye and a casual 'afternoon' next time he comes in for a large portion

Hullygully · 05/06/2010 12:51

And accidentally flash your breasts.

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 05/06/2010 15:11

hm, if that's playing it cool by hully standards, I shudder to think what being a bit in your face might be....phnarh phnarh.

My life is not meant to be a carry on film, its meant to be a delicate European art house fillum....

Hullygully · 05/06/2010 15:14

You need a bit of Sid James, luv.

Mine is one of those Afghan ones all brown desert, wind and long silences with grim endurance.

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 05/06/2010 16:55

something like this, Hully?

Gibbon · 07/06/2010 08:08

Loving the films of our lives.

I bagsy And Now for Something Completely Different.

MadameDefarge · 07/06/2010 12:46

...I had you pegged more for Planet of the Apes....Maybe I could be Delicatessen, or Maybe Danton...

Hullygully · 07/06/2010 13:51

No, much grimmer with only little old me to cast a ray of glamour

I see you more as Wanton, than Danton, Mimi dear. And you Gibbon in that marvellous film with old Ronnie Reagan.

What about Pag? Sex(ual innuendo) in the City?

Umami?

Princess Fiorimonde?

MadameDefarge · 07/06/2010 14:43

My oh my, Mme Hully, what a sight for sore eyes you must be for those desert ruffians...

Gibbon · 07/06/2010 15:20

planet of the apes of course! I bagsy that one too.

Umami · 09/06/2010 11:35

Hmmm. I think my film will need aspects of Carry On, and lots of food....something along the lines of Carry On Buttering Crumpets.

Hullygully · 09/06/2010 11:59

I'm thinking Aresnic and Old Lace, or Harold and Maud for you.

OP posts:
Umami · 09/06/2010 15:37

Yes, I think Arsenic and Old Lace will do nicely. Having googled (ahem), I am not drawn to Harold and Maude.

Gibbon · 09/06/2010 16:20

I have the urge to watch Abigail's Party now.
