To wonder if baby banz are a waste of money

For me anyway considering I spent £20 on sun hats today to watch dd 9months rip them straight of in about 30 seconds and dispose of it out the side of the pram .

Anyone managed to get a baby to keep them on should I buy a pair or stick with dd all encompassing shade which I bought on ds and have never seen another one because it is square and has lots of flaps that fold to make sure it covers baby.

my dd wore hers last year, she screams if they go on now... i have a shade a babe that covers her completely in the buggy

BabyBanz.. great idea but my DD 18 months at the time couldn't stand them on and pulled them off. I then passed them on to a friend and same for her and her DC.. don't waste your money.
Go for a widebrimmed hat and sew and ribbon on it so you can tie it under her chin. that will shade her eyes well enough.

DS has worn his almost since birth (now 2yo) and though he went through a phase of removing them around 8m, the rest of the time he has been fine with them. Since about 18m he asks for them when going out. I'd keep trying OP, maybe she will get used to them.

they always seem to me that they'd be realy irritating, all tight round your face? because doesn't the elastic go round the head to the front, they don't have arms do they?

i just hate stuff like that on my face

babies managed just fine without sunglasses for thousands of years! am sure they're still fine lol

But they look so cool. DS1 has had sunnies since almost newborn, started with baby banz mostly for the cool factor. You just keep putting them back on.

He gets new ones every year (cause by the end of a summer they are all scratched to hell) and he asked me when were getting DS2s.

I have a mothercare voucher that is burning a hole in my pocket and we are going there tomorrow to see what they have.

Baby Banz are the only thing my 13 month old son likes. He loves wearing them because he hates having the sun in his eye's. He's been wearing them since about 5 months.

Sunhats however are a waste of money because he just pulls them off!

DD mostly keeps hers on but I'm pretty strict about saying no whenever her hand goes near them. She's (mostly) accepting.

slushy06 · 22/05/2010 21:36

May try a cheap pair and see how we go.

bought some this week, put them on, we all laugh and clap, then off they come again, time and time again

BikeRunSki · 22/05/2010 22:03

DS wears his, although are not actual Baby Banz. They are Foster Grant ones from local pharmacy, which cost a fiver. He had them last summer too.

SeaTrek · 22/05/2010 23:06

Gosh, I forgot about those!

Yes, total waste of money.
