when he makes something to eat?

we have plenty of regular plates just not as small as the dc's ones

its really getting on my nerves now, he doesnt see whats wrong...

they are the childrens! use the grown up ones! he sued ds's cups when he makes a brew as well, why a grown man wants to drink out of a cup the says "worlds greatest 8 year ol" i dont know!

I love dd's melamine plates for toast etc. In fact she 'inherited' my Noddy plates Wouldn't use the cups as I like a good big mug of tea.

biddysmama · 22/05/2010 11:37

it bothers me because they are the childrens plastic ones... if he uses them all i have to wash them up cos i cant really give 14 month old dd a proper plate

ZZZenAgain · 22/05/2010 11:37

I think they are just family plates and cups right? I mean if the dc are not fussed and saying, daddy is using my cup, etc. Really I wouldn't bebothered. I don't think dh ever used the playmobil mugs etc but I don't think it would really have bothered me. I mean they cleaned anyway before the next use in the same way as other plates.

Maybe you need to get him a special set of his own?

Missus84 · 22/05/2010 11:38

He should wash up after himself!

ZZZenAgain · 22/05/2010 11:38

oh I see they're plastic.

Just hide them

biddysmama · 22/05/2010 11:39

tbh i'm pregnant and hot and everythings bothering me today

thanks, i'm just crazy lol

Is it that much of a drama to wash a plate?
What's he having on them? Is a little rinse not enough?

BertieBotts · 22/05/2010 11:41

He can use them, if he washes them up afterwards. Or if it means you have run out of plastic plates, he supervises your DD eating from a normal plate and is responsible for it not breaking.

Or you could just get some more plastic plates. Ikea do very cheap ones, Asda have started doing copycat Ikea ones.

cravingcroissants · 22/05/2010 11:42

Just buy more plastic plates....

plonker · 22/05/2010 11:42

Is all this angst really over a bit of extra washing up ...?

Maybe you need to find other things to wind you up

biddysmama · 22/05/2010 11:42

i keep buying new ones... it annoys me that a grown man is sat there eating off a pink princess plate instead of a regular one!

lol i love this "i'm the size of an elephant and its your fault" stage of pregnancy

Ivykaty44 · 22/05/2010 11:44

men rarely get past a mental age of 8 anyway so your dh feels at home with that particular mug/cup

buy him some short trousers

waitingforbedtime · 22/05/2010 11:47

yabu

We use all the plates etc but for some reason wouldnt use any of ds's mugs (he has about 6 mugs, he is only 3 fgs!)

EricNorthmansmistress · 22/05/2010 11:48

YANBU
That would annoy me too! But I am a bit weird. DH just tries to ignore me most of the time.

ShadeofViolet · 22/05/2010 11:52

YANBU

My DH does this too. What annoys me is that DD sees 'her' plate and then DH wonders why she expects the food to be for her, and she cries when he doesnt share.

plonker · 22/05/2010 11:56

Ahh I missed that you are pregnant - in that case I take it all back, you are definitely not BU

sanielle · 22/05/2010 12:04

I guess missus the OP is probably more annoyed that the kids can't use "their" plates, and will have to use adult plates.

Morloth · 22/05/2010 12:05

Seriously?

sanielle · 22/05/2010 12:06

Hmm must have this open longer than I realized! Only had one response when I typed in mine!
