Or have I misunderstood what a troll is? Do you get bored of joining the consensus and just say other stuff you don't even believe because playing devil's advocate is more interesting?

I do often suspect people of doing this.
But it's a big site and the contrary opinions are probably genuinely held, in the main.

Though i do like a good AIBU as the tide rolls in and out over the course of a few hundred posts.
