to expect that shops that sell bigger sizes should sell mat clothes up to that size

Oft i think i am right that if a shop such as New look sell clothes i can wear as i am a size 22 then they should sell something that i can get from the mat section. The have some cute t-shirts but stop at a 18.

are bigger sized girls not allowed to be PG??? or am i just being a pain in the bum because of hormones

Have the same problem - size 16 bottom half (so ok there), but size 22/24 on top - combo of wide athletic shoulders (swim lots) and huge boobs .

Having a nightmare looking for smart maternity clothes to wear to a family wedding next month when I'll be 20wk preg.

Even the online stores seem to regard maternity at size 18 to be "outsize".

Obviously "they" think big girls don't have sex and don't need maternity clothes!!!!!

YANBU. I am a size 22/24 and had REAL trouble finding maternity clothes at a reasonable price. I drew the line at spending £50 for a pair of maternity jeans. As it was, I had a pair of comfy black trousers with an elasticated waist from Matalan which were already a year or so old, which did the first 26 weeks or so, and then ordered a pair of mat jeans off ebay. They arrived the morning I went into hospital with bleeding and contractions, and DD was born 3 days later at 27+4weeks!

Oh well! They're in the loft now!

I had similar issues - apparantly shops think fat people don't get pregnant!
specialist shops like simply be do a (limited) maternity range in big sizes, but I found Next pretty good.

Their mat range goes up to a 22 online and are extra massive and stretchy with it - I was still fitting into my 22 maternity trousers with room to spare at the very end of my pregnancy when to my horror a "normal" size 26 nightie didn't fit! (measuring 45 weeks pg with a 9lb 7 baby, massive placenta and lots of fluid)

thank you all for your replies nice to know i am not the crazy PG lady lol, I am still in my jeans that i have been wearing for a while and have been a 22 since DS 8 years ago so hopefully since i am due october i can get away with dresses for the summer an hiding in september :D

I am looking at ebay since i can not afford £50 for a pair of jean oft tooo much and i have an ebay addiction.

Ack - try being on the continent where these daft shops don't seem to think that anyone will ever possibly fuck a woman over a size 14! I have bought the majority of my maternity clothes from the UK and I'm not bus-sized! I know it's possible to just go out and buy a tent-sized t-shirt but I don't want to look like a 1970s frumpy farmer's wife. Why shouldn't I have pretty maternity clothes?

I love my maternity jeans (Next) but tbh because I'm hourglass shaped a lot of my clothes lasted ages because they'd always been loose around the tummy. In fact I'm wearing a pair of jeans today that are normal jeans, just a size bigger than normal which I bought in my first trimester and I'm 31 weeks today.

haha you must remember the Evans of the 80s? It was all square brown "sensible" skirts - for dressing up you could team it with a gold lame leaf-emblazoned top! Very farmer's wife meets caribbean cruise!

But seriously, I can throw on a big T-shirt but I don't want people thinking "fat caaaah, look at the size of her gut". I'm a bit bigger yes, but I have a bump!

Simply Be do a few maternity items in larger sizes here. A pair of their maternity jeans and some of their ordinary jersey-waistband skirts saw me through my pregnancies.

It is sad thst it's next to impossible to get plus size maternity stuff.

and dont get me started about needing a slightly wider and large sized shoe!!!!

Size 8 or if a cheap shop 9 it is impossible
