to not spend a precious free Saturday night working for free behind a bar?

DP and I were going to go to his annual work charity ball, but decided against it as some of his closest friends weren't able to make it. Tickets are £25 or so each, there's usually a good band etc. We'd decided to go out for a nice meal together instead.

He's now just called to say that he and I have been asked to work behind the bar for the evening, which would get us free entry to the whole do. Problem is, I don't know anyone else he works with, and am not sure I really want to give up a precious free Sat eve to put my dress on and just stand behind a bar. DP is very keen.

AIBU, feel bad saying no, as it's for charity, but would rather just donate some money and have the meal out instead!!!

Oh good. I wondered if I were being a bit spoiled. I just didn't like the idea of putting on the lovely dress I bought and then not getting to have the proper evening. Plus standing up all night being nice to pissed people and having to stay sober enough to work a cash till when I was totally shit at that back in my student days.

I sound like Cinderella
