:-( go and buy some now.

We never bother with anniversarys.
I buy my own flowers sometimes and DH buys me flowers as well.

It's no big deal.

Treat yourself to the biggest bouquet of your favourite flowers. I usually go for lileys.

paranoidmum · 17/05/2010 08:55

Congratulations! Treat yourself big time. They don't remember - has taken me 7 years to realise. I buy my own birthday and mothers day flowers too.

It is upsetting and disappointing, but a fact of life in some households, unfortunately!

Make sure you tell the florist / check-out lady the reason too - a problem shared and all that!!!

migola · 17/05/2010 08:55

hell I might even treat myself to a coffee too! 'Happy' anniversary to me

My DH thinks flowers are a waste of money. I get the DCs to pick me some daisies instead!

upahill · 17/05/2010 15:53

lazarusb why does your DH think flowers are a waste of money? I'd be sad if my DH thought that!

GoldenSnitch · 17/05/2010 16:08

My DH hasn't bought me flowers since before we were married

Actually, he bought me one bouquet once from DS for one Mother's Day. This mothers day he got me sod all and we have 2 DC's now!!

I have considered buying him flowers - they'd be for me really but it might make him feel a little guilty. I ended up buying myself a Mother's Day present this year. I was so upset after having nothing on the Sunday that I burst into tears when my Mum visited on the Monday. She always sticks up for him but even she thought he'd been awful so we went shopping. I got a little double picture frame so I could keep a baby photo of each of the DC's next to my bed and a pink and blue Hyacinth (because I love the smell and have a boy and girl) in pretty glass pots.

We buy much nicer presents for ourselves anyway!

OP - order yourself some flowers. Sign the card from Mumsnet
