silly one i know but, hey, ive seen sillier

DS has a big sister.
he sometimes brings a clip to me and i put it in his hair.
he then checks himself in the mirror and looks at everyone for their approval.
today dickhead his dad was here, who told me in no uncertain terms i must not put clips in his sons hair.

we argued & he left soon after.

No yanbu. My DS (2.6 years old) likes to take my alice band out of my hair, put it in his and then runs to look in the mirror. He also likes to try to tie my hair up in a band and brush my hair. No reason to worry, its called imitation and its how children learn x

FGS, does he think it will "turn" DS gay? And so what if he did. Tell him to fuck off across the sea in a big welly.

KurriKurri · 16/05/2010 18:25

What does his dad think will happen if he has a clip in his hair?

My nephew (when he was staying at my house with his dad) used to watch me put on my makeup, and I presume he did the same at his mum's. Once he grabbed a lipstick and put it on. Dad laughed. Nephew is now 8 and is well into the 'hates girls and all sort of girly things' phase. So there was no effect whatsoever of him copying us. Just the same as there will be no effect from your son copying his sister. If he does 'turn gay', it won't be because you put a clip in his hair!

yadnbu, my son had a clip in from 1 as his hair grew so fast we couldn't have it cut every week!
I let him wear pink / dress up / wear hairbands and it will take more than that to change him / his sexuality. Tell your ex to fuck off from me!

motherlovebone · 16/05/2010 18:40

thanks munchkins

i will tell him to fuck off from you the next time we speak.

thanks all

My dad used to have a clip put into his hair by his mum to keep it out of his eyes it was blonde and floppy, lovely!

Irons · 16/05/2010 19:42

My brother used to enjoy wearing my mother's pajamas.

My ds is 3.10 and likes to wear his big sister's hair clips and wear her girly dress up clothes. I don't mind at all. However I don't let him wear clips out of the house as I don't want other children to say something which would make him feel bad or awkward about it. His favourite colour is pink too.

Luckily my dh is fine about it and sees no problem with it at all.
