To wonder what books have Hannah Montana or High School Musical In them

Other than the spin off books....

We missed book week as we were in the middle of moving to a new school building, so we are having the "dress up as a character from a book" day today...

DD1 has gone in as Puss In Boots....others have wonderful costumes, some bought, some home made...

However there was a large % of girls in Hannah Montana costumes, or High School musical costumes, or ben 10 costumes...

Now, I KNOW there are working parents, and people with little time or money, but I'd think tis actually cheaper to send them in not in a trademarked licensed outfit, but making do with what you have for a Dennis The Menace or a Pippi Longstocking...

Maybe I'm just old and boring and out of touch but I do think "dress as a character from a book" shouldn;t include Ben 10 and Hannah Montana

but that is what some children like to read - and surely it's good that they are at least reading spin-off books?
Ds for instance is really into Star Wars and has several Star Wars books - he's not as into books as his sisters but at least he will eagerly read a Star Wars book - so he went dressed up as Anakin Skywalker (not in a bought costume though).
Some parents might not be readers themselves, and I suppose making some sort of effort is better than none? Yabu.

YABU - As geekgirl said at least they've made an effort.

When we had book week, one of the teachers dressed as Bob the Builder.
