They've all argued since school finished and I am on my own (going crazy). DC4 is unwell and DC3 not so great, the older two are 7 & 8 and can read....I can feel myself ready to blow and I'd rather know that in one hour they'll be in bed rather than two!!

Or shall I just plug them in to the TV?

YANBU.

Bed. TV will make them more wired!

lilmissmummy · 13/05/2010 17:24

Yep I would agree with bed. I often send my children to bed at 6 (they are 9 and 5) when they get too much for me! Warning stroppy pregnant woman!! . Let the older 2 read for an hour and give yourself a break. You deserve it!

Mine are going in the bath as soon as the clock strikes six and neighbours finishes

frasersmummy · 13/05/2010 17:36

6pm??? wow that would be fantastic... my 5 year old will not be asleep before 8.30pm

yanbu but I am really envious and hopeful I will be able to get him down this early once he is at school

posieparker · 13/05/2010 17:38

Mine have always been in bed by 7pm, until recently and the older two go at 7.30pm....up by 6am though!

8.30? No way, I would go insane! Evenings are mine and mine alone!

compo · 13/05/2010 17:39

They don't go to sleep at six, they have a bath and stories til 7pm
then mutter, sing, talk to their toys until 8pm , but they are in bed not bothering me, lol

mistletoekisses · 13/05/2010 17:40

Same here compo!

NormalityBites · 13/05/2010 17:47

Mine is already abed

goandshowdaddy · 13/05/2010 17:55

YANBU - good plan . I'm hoping to do the same, except my reasoning is that I'm going out at 7.15 and need to be ready so want DS out of the way!

In that case AIBU??!

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 13/05/2010 18:02

Mine are going up at half 6 before my brain explodes

SeasideLil · 13/05/2010 18:04

Put the little ones in front of the TV til bed at 7, at the same time the older can go to bed to read/play in room. Sanity first, always.

posieparker · 13/05/2010 18:23

dc4 is in bed, dc3 just about to get hair dried and boys in the bath.....so bed soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
