Yes he is pigeonist and quite right too.

Pigeons are horrible.

Tortington · 12/05/2010 22:07

pidgeons are the underclass of the brd world surely/ i wouldn't want the dregs of society on my bird table either.

i think your DH is right. Although how he actually enforces this rule would be great to watch

Ivykaty44 · 12/05/2010 22:08

what about roland

scurryfunge · 12/05/2010 22:08

Pidgeons are vermin and they bully all the birds in my garden and eat all the food off the bird table.

HerBeatitude · 12/05/2010 22:08

He could hire starlings as minders

2shoes · 12/05/2010 22:09

he thinks they would be better on a plate

Poor beleageured pigeons!

We hand-reared an orphaned one from 14 days old last summer. He was adorable and came to view my then 12yo DD as his mum, flying to the hand and returning when called, so yes, your DH is being pigeonist!

MumInBeds · 12/05/2010 22:12

We're the same here, in fact dh has lowered the roof on ours to stop the pidgeons getting on. It's not so much a dislike of them just that they simply empty the thing on minutes.

nelliesmum · 12/05/2010 22:12

Our neighbours have stopped feeding altogether because of pigeons, but birds need feeding in this weather. A lot of them have broods and the insects aren't flying because its so bl**dy cold. We have a blue-tits nest in our garden and I am going through agonies of worry about them. Today I bowled our cat off the fence with a tennis ball because I could tell he was thinking about investigating the nest box.

2shoes · 12/05/2010 22:21

we are cruel to cats, we have some big syringes by the door full of water and get them when they sit in next doors tree trying to get the birds(how a big ginger cat thinks it won't be seen in a green tree is another thread)

It depends on the type of pidgeon. Wood pidgeons are well-mannered, city pidgeons ar not . Generalisation, much?

pissovski · 12/05/2010 22:44

i loathe birds that are pigeon sized or bigger, and i especially loathe pigeons. I am actually really scared of them (will go into shops to avoid them in town centre).

In my world being pigeonist is good

I know that i won't open this thread agin now, cos i even hate see the word

ronshar · 12/05/2010 22:47

That is discrimination of the highest order.
I would phone Trevor Phillips, he would have something to say about it.

Now Seagulls.
If I had a gun I would shoot the lot. Pigeons dont get a look in down here on the coast.

101damnations · 13/05/2010 14:37

ronshar, you are not allowed to shoot seagulls.Absolutely crazy,as they are a ral pest, but they are protected,on the other hand you can shoot as many pigeons as you like.We like them stir fried.

singsinthebath · 13/05/2010 14:38

pigeons are rats with wings imo
