Ok, I am a stay at home mum to 4 children aged between 12 and 6 mths. My eldest has ADHD and is a handful all the time. Some times I feel he is more hard work than the new(ish) baby is!

Anyway, I can't seem to keep on top of housework, constant clothes washing etc...

My husband works full time and so he thinks that he doesn;t need to help with ANYTHING at home. He comes in and expects his dinner ready etc... and tonight he came in the front door straight into the front room and sat down and put the cricket on!

Anyway, is my husband right? Should I be able to cope with 4 children and ALL of the housework, cooking, cleaning, school runs, food shopping etc.... or can I justify getting a little bit of help?

It might make him start helping out more because I don't think he would want to pay for extra help???

ANy advice helpful, just so I know.

Whether you can cope or not - who cares? If you can afford a cleaner, get one - housework sucks and there are no prizes for having cleaned the toilet a million times in your life.

Thanks for all of your responses on here guys. Its been a long day so only just been able to catch up. Today he got in from work and cooked, don't get too excited. It was a curry for himself cos I don;t like them and I had already cooked for the children.

Thats another thing. I keep telling him to wait for the kids to go to bed before cooking but this was at 5pm when all the children were still running riot??!!

I am out tonight, down the pub for pub quiz, I may not return home but catch a plane somewhere nice and hot. I figured if I fly to St Lucia I can go to the cricket that he keeps watching on the tv and wave to him via the tv cameras!!!!

If you would like a cleaner, then get one.

Many people pay for various jobs to be done on the house, like building, plumbing, decorating or roof repairs. Why should cleaning be any different?
