Ds3 flooded the house for my dw and to save the electrics she tripped everything in a panic. Since 9 she has been waiting for an electrician and is still waiting with no power whilst dog sitting on her birthday. I'm home now and think it is safe to have the power on (checked and disconnected all wet bits) but her day is a write off so AIBU to tell her to have a new birthday tomorrow with a meal etc?

We have power!!

The bloke finally came and we not only got it all checked, a new smoke alarm and allowed to switch on again but also brand new light fittings to replace the crappy bizzare fittings ones we had on a few of (why the house was built with some of one style and others of others I have no idea!!!) the bloke checked it would be paid for by H.A. and said "that'll be water damage then... and another..."

Kids in bed (luckily we have a gas cooker and DW did them an omelette before I got home) and we're sitting down to her birthday treat of Domino's Pizza! Shame the order was mucked up by them twice but we have food!
