We take DS to the wildlife park. "Look, DS, a lemur! On Daddy's shoulder! Isn't it beautiful!" Eff off Mum, I'm busy with this stone.

The biggest cardboard box you can get your hands on; always goes down a treat here

drloves8 · 10/05/2010 12:33

its especially annoying when they nag you for months for that perfect toy...only for you to trawl the shops for hours looking for it ... you finally find it , and rush home ,joyously present it to the darling child ...for him to play with the sodding box it came in.

You could really push the boat out for his birthday and give him an extra long tube from inside a roll of wrapping paper

Big box def.

Just sit back with a magazine and be prepared to utter "yes darling, big box" and " that's lovely, baby" now and again.

I had 30 mins of peace once after letting the dc's play with a whole packet of wipes.

It was like a blizzard had hit the living room.
