Funting Orange walks

Sorry if you don't know what i'm talking about (lucky bastards)

but i wish they'd just fuck off and let me lie in on a Sunday, instead of spreading bigoted filth round the city.

Might actually be a Republican walk. They're all one to me.

That's them on their way up glasgow high street, give them half an hour before they make a return leg then another half an hour before the sirens start. Arseholes.

Totally agree. I live a long away away these days but that's one thing I don't miss. All they every did was clog up the City Centre and attempt to create bad feeling. Republican walks too. Can't believe they are still allowed to happen tbh.

JennyPiccolo · 09/05/2010 10:36

the police seem to have curtailed them a wee bit, but still going. Why can't they meet in a park or something? is it only effective if you cause a bloody disruption?

They play louder going past my flat cos im above a celtic pub as well, as if there's anybody in the bloody pub at 8.30 on a sunday.

it makes me ashamed to be scottish sometimes.

I totally agree Jenny, I grew up in the West of Scotland. All my DPs family haven't a clue what I moan about, again agree lucky bastards.

On a visit to Scotland I said 'oh no a walk we are going to be stuck in traffic for ages' proof he hasn't a clue he replied 'why don't people just drive through between the different bands' lol.

From what you say Jenny you must live near my Dad's family

muggglewump · 09/05/2010 12:51

I'm on the Clyde and I hate all this shit, it's so backwards.
I have no time for any of it.

lorelilee · 09/05/2010 13:00

It's all a load of outdated, incendiary nonsense and does nothing but give a few sad individuals a sense of power and belonging, whilst intimidating and inconveniencing a whole lot more.

JennyPiccolo · 09/05/2010 13:14

I live on the high street in Glasgow, i love it here, the walks are seriously the only drawback.

My boyfriend didn't get it either, hes from the East coast, and he witnessed the orange walk for the first time during the massive one in the summer. He seriously thought it was some sort of terrorist attack, there were helicopters everywhere and a burnt out ambulance up the street.

You should try being over here. I'm in Northern Ireland.

And just to be clear, I couldn't give a flying fart whether its orange, green, purple, blue or rainbow coalition.

LetThereBeRock · 09/05/2010 13:25

I agree. I detest them. There's no need for them. They should be banned.

AgentProvocateur · 09/05/2010 14:29

I really object to the amount of money that is spent policing them that could be better spent elsewhere. I was in the city centre (yes, Glasgow) a couple of weeks ago, and there were two!

I would ban them all.
