to think Clegg and Cameron, as dads of young children, should job-share?

PM is a terribly pressured job with very long hours.
Just think, by taking a lead on this they could send out a strong message about the importance of fatherhood and work-life balance, and the viability of part-time working.
I'm right, aren't I?

GB has young kids too

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/05/2010 09:24

yeah Roulade he does, I just don't think he would be such an easy job-share partner - bit irritable and given to blaming other people when things go wrong. He would always be going 'It's Nick's fault!'

they would have to work out something about how they were going to all fit in 10 Downing St - possibly build an extension in the rose garden?

they could divide number 10 into a couple of maisonettes. the local council could divide the house up
10a and 10b

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/05/2010 16:54

good thinking Maristella.
and they won't squabble at all about who gets 10a and who gets 10b, oh no.

No, no, no, they don't need to build. If job-sharing, they can hotdesk. It'll save money.

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/05/2010 17:04

I like it HamShine.
They will each get their own laptop though?

It's a great idea!

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 09/05/2010 17:07

at 10a and 10b.

Hotdesking - will they have to share a mug?

HamShine · 09/05/2010 17:10

No, share desktop. Can't be trusted with laptops. Besides, job sharers leave work in the office - at least, I did!

No, separate mugs for h&s purposes. tea & coffee kitty.

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/05/2010 17:12

I think they can have their own mugs tbh, with 'Nick' and 'Dave' on them.
Can't you just see the notes they will write each other - 'Dear Nick, I returned from the G7 summit this morning to discover that not only had someone, in my absence, chosen to use my mug, they had not even bothered to wash it up. There were what appeared to be coffee stains inside it and large smears of lipstick on the rim. I am not unreasonable about this - I have no objection to your using my mug to make Miriam coffee if she visits during the day as long as it is not too frequent, but would you PLEASE make sure it is washed up afterwards. Yours, Dave. PS. How did PM's Qs go this week?'
