I don't know him well and haven't seen him for several years but he is my dad's brother. He emigrated to South Africa in the 60's and returned, disillusioned, about 10 years ago "when the blacks started thinking they were equal to whites" so I guess I shouldn't be surprised really. You know when you read in the news about people who support the BNP and think 'who the f**k would be stupid enough to vote for them?'? Well, now I know

BettySwollux · 07/05/2010 17:48

Dont blame you for being disgusted. YANBU.

Gigantaur · 07/05/2010 17:57

YANBU.

I would have nothing more to do with the man as he is clearly more of a sub species than any black/asian/pink with green spots

oxocube - all families have a "nutter" - looks like youve found yours ! ... yanbu at all.

Firawla · 07/05/2010 22:03

YANBU
Atleast you haven't seen him for years and so wont be having to see him regularly or anything, but not nice to be related to such people. However as dr loves said all families have a nutter, or atleast most... I have an uncle that when my ds1 was born the first question he wanted to ask my mum is what colour was he! (my kids are mixed thats why)
Just because ur related to them doesn't mean you have to have anything to do with them at all. These people are just idiots

Oh God. DH's dad once voted BNP in local elections. We were 'estranged' for a long time. He apologised when he realised how strongly I felt but I still can't really forgive him for it. He says he hasn't done so since but the intent was clear. He now vote UKIP. Urgh. This man is my baby DD's grandfather and I really struggle with him.

Horrible to know these people are 'real'!

DH couldn't be more different BTW, and was mortified when he learned what his dad had done.
