I was retriving a ball from the hedge, bent down, and a thin twig went straight into my eye. It hurt, I didn't say anything cry out or nothing, I just turned around, and my eye was watering/tears coming out of my eye.

DH asks what I have done I said twig in eye it hurts. His response 'is it really necessary for you to cry over it?'

onepieceoflollipop · 06/05/2010 21:29

keepitsweet Sorry about your eye, would you like a cup of tea?

Please show this post to your dh, perhaps next time he will know what to say.

keepitsweet · 06/05/2010 21:32

Ah cup of tea gratefully received lollipop.

He's not normally caring, but he's not normally so incredibly uncaring.

What an unsympathetic, unpleasant shitface.

YAdefNBU. Stick a fucking twig in his eye and tell him not to cry about it!

mumblechum · 06/05/2010 21:34

Oh, that's horrible. "He's not normally caring" -

twolittlemonkeys · 06/05/2010 21:36

Ow that sounds painful, you have my sympathy... Your DH sounds like an idiot.

GypsyMoth · 06/05/2010 21:37

is he ever just 'nice'?

XboxWidow30 · 06/05/2010 21:40

He sounds like my husband. Sorry he wasn't sympathetic toward you as it must have hurt. I agree with the sticking a twig in his eye!

Until then I offer cake to go with the tea.

keepitsweet · 06/05/2010 21:42

He's nice but is usually more pragmatic and practical over things, than affectionate.

I.e. if something is bothering me, I don't get a hug or anything, but a practical solution.

I see it as very stiff english man outlook.

keepitsweet · 07/05/2010 18:33

Scratched cornea, and bruised under the eyelid. Still very painful.

BUT you'll be pleased to know DH, came home from work and apologised profusely, so he must of read this thread or thought better of it after being at work.

Anyway will make him grovel for the weekend.

Oh poor old you KIS

He may be forgiven by mumsnet if he ups his level or caring for you, starting now. Profuse apology is a good start.
