More rubbish through the front door. I have been waiting for the BNP to put their nastiness through the letterbox. Not had the pleasure so far but hey - who needs the BNP when so many are jumping on the bandwagon?

First off - I am not of the mind that anyone who discusses/is worried about immigration is a bigot or racist. Lets get that out of the way.

Today I had a leaflet from the Christian Party through the door which featured a lot of union jacks and focused entirely on immigration i.e. stop new immigrants jumping the housing queue etc etc. No other policies mentioned really apart from stopping 5 year olds having sex education (where have we heard that before?)

At the same time one of those dodgy clothes collection companies that disguise themeselves as charities did a mail out. They are trying a new tack - lots of pictures of doggies and kittens looking sad and they are called - British for British!

So none of your clothes going towards helping poor people abroad - this company is British and helps British dogs and cats (well they pretend to in order to get their hands on your old clothes. They sell your stuff overseas at a huge profit and alledgedly give an unspecified amount to an animal charity).

Its not that I have any objection to UK charities/companies but I find this cynical ploy to play to people's fears about immigration/foreigner worrying. I also find it insulting when its assumed that I will agree with the idea that immigration is out of control and the UK is about to sink into the sea under the weight of all these bogus asylum seekers.

Its what happens when parties like the BNP start becoming mainstream.
