to not want to go to a friends wedding because I can't find anything to wear

I want advice. The wedding is in the summer and dp, ds, dd and I have been invited to the service, lunch and evening do so we will all need outfits to wear all day. I haven't got a clue what to wear, I've done the usual trawling through websites but I don't want to buy something I'll never wear again but I do want something nice because no doubt the photos will end up on facebook! What does someone with massive legs wear to a summer wedding?

YABU - If you wanted advice post on style and beauty.

Get a full length but light dress. Something fairly plain and dress it up with jewellery, a scarf etc.

nickelbabe · 05/05/2010 12:01

you will get better advice on style, but as for not wanting to go because you can't find something to wera, i'm afraid i've got to go with yabu, too.

what about wide-legged linen trousers? o a maxi dress?

Psammead · 05/05/2010 12:05

Something like this?

jenroy29 · 05/05/2010 12:08

I was looking at the linen trousers, are they dressy enough? It's a registery office so I won't need a hat will I. The truth is I don't know what is expected and don't want to stand out!

You need to get yourself a maxi dress.

For DD - something nice and pretty like this?

For DS - Oh god, I don't do boys... hang on a min...

Chandon · 05/05/2010 12:15

go to S&B

wear smart tailored trousers (linen) and a silk (=cool) top.

Psammead · 05/05/2010 12:17

Maybe just a shirt and black trousers like this?

jenroy29 · 05/05/2010 12:18

I've gone to S&B thanks everyone and Psammead she has the shoes in white already and will love that dress, you don't work there do you?

No! It was the first UK shop that popped into my head :P I used to love it when I was in England.

Have fun at the wedding!
