to expect dp to spend time with us on bank holiday

DS is 8 weeks old - I am on maternity leave, DP is at work. Yesterday (Bank Holiday) had signed up to do a 10K run (a hobby which he has taken up since baby was born) which he did in the morning , then went off to the pub till 5 and came home and fell asleep on the couch for two hours. So in the end he spent about 30 mins with DS yesterday evening. Then when i was chainging DS for bed and he was crying because he was hungry, all DP did was stay lying on the couch and turn up the TV! AIBU to expect DP to spend time with DS - and me - on a bank holiday, particularly as the baby is so young. DP had also been out all night thursday and friday night. I told him i was pissed off and he started going on about how he never sees his mates and how i always see mine and have people come to visit (im am english living in ireland - my mam has been over twice sincde baby was born and my best friends once) Sorry for rant - am majorly annoyed!

YANBU but after I had ds (my first) all my bank holidays looked like this, in fact all my weekends looked like this too. Exh did not see why both of our lives had to change, only one of us and it wasn't going to be him.

He is my ex now.

YANBU. Get out of the house next weekend and let DP look after your DS, if you are breastfeeding it won't be for long, but you need to make a stand and do it fast.

thank you. was beginning to get paranoid that i was bu. its disappointing as much as anything. he actually told me yesterday that he knew id be pissed off. but went ahead and did it anyway!
