Have entered a competition to win 50K to set up my own business via Barclays take one small step campaign. Is it unreasonable and totally shameless to ask Mumnetters to vote for my idea? If you think not please please could you?

The idea is to open a Turkish Pide and Gozleme Bar which would provide a healthy and delicious fast food alternative to my local area and also specialise in other traditional Turkish food. If I get enough votes I could actually win and my dream could come true. Its still open to other entries too if any one else fancies a go.

Info on what they are

Pides are flat breads cooked in a charcoal oven and topped with the ingredients of your choice normally spicy chicken, beef or lamb and a variety of vegtables. They are similar to Pizza but are flexible and are often filled with salad and rolled. They are a healthy fast food alternative and the most popular fast food in Turkey. Pides are sold in Turkish areas of Britain mostly in London but are not widely known elsewhere.

Gozleme - The Turks call these pancakes but they are actually pastries made to order cooked over a wood fired griddle and can have any filling though the most popular are spicy potato, spinich and goats cheese, meat, mushrooms and chocolate

Have added my support. I had some amazing Pides in Australia earlier this year. Not seen them in the UK before. Good Luck.

cupcakesandbunting · 06/05/2010 14:38

Voted for you.

Now you must have a launch party when you open and you have to invite everyone that voted. You yum!

Xavielli · 06/05/2010 14:44

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm baklava!

dolphin13 · 06/05/2010 15:12

I've backed you.
Good luck

somebodysfool · 06/05/2010 15:29

I am married to a Turkish man and we have talked about doing this for years but its the leap out of fairly stable jobs that's stopped us so far.

A launch party would be a great idea. If I got shortlisted I would hold a free taster session in Canterbury to drum up publicity for more votes so would let you know on here the date or dates. You never know perhaps dreams really can come true!
