bibbitybobbityhat · 30/04/2010 16:25

Nonsense. I reckon it would toughen em up to walk to school through snowdrifts in long shorts and wellies .

OP posts:
SuSylvester · 30/04/2010 16:26

hmm
not when they cant walk
i like a knee

bibbitybobbityhat · 30/04/2010 16:32

Of course you want to see a knee on a non-walker. You want to see a knee and preferably two of the three rolls of fat above it, imvho.

InmyheadIminParis · 30/04/2010 16:42

completely agree. DS has just grown out of his and I can't find any more long-ish shorts and am very

Mamalade · 30/04/2010 16:54

Chin up Inmy, they're everywhere at the moment.Get out there and stock up!!!

hmc · 30/04/2010 17:13

I'm a huge fan too - uber cute

flootshoot · 30/04/2010 17:17

Can I add that my DS looks like a proper dude after his first ever haircut today. The hairdresser did a v. good job and then insisted on spiking it with a teeny bit of gel before we left. He looked LOVELY.

Tinuviel · 30/04/2010 20:07

DS2 would wear shorts or 3/4 lengths all year round if I let him! He once went to Beavers in shorts, bare feet and sandals - it was the end of November. I hadn't even noticed what he was wearing till we were walking up the path (we hadn't been anywhere else that day!)

He was out in the snow in 3/4 lengths too!! He does look gorgeous in them though.

SpringHeeledJack · 30/04/2010 20:10

YABU

[class war emoticon]

dinkystinky · 30/04/2010 20:10

YANBU -they're so gorgeous in them. But agree, non-walkers you need short dungarees on to see the rolls and rolls of kissableness..

bibbitybobbityhat · 30/04/2010 20:14

Oh shurely you mean knickerbockers around Kensington way Springy. I used to work just behind Peter Jones (nostalgic sigh) and some of those preppy uniforms were .

OP posts:
biddyofsuburbia · 30/04/2010 20:20

OH yes, there is a school just near Peter Jones (Eton Square??) with burgundy velvety knickerbockers and yellow jumpers, it's cruel really

bibbitybobbityhat · 30/04/2010 20:21

Thats the one biddy!

OP posts:
bibbitybobbityhat · 30/04/2010 20:22

I think you are thinking of Sloane Square.

OP posts:
biddyofsuburbia · 30/04/2010 20:25

I don't know where it is I just see them in that general region on the rare occasions I drag myself away from the baking & go 'up to town' to see DH as he works round the corner! I am such a suburban biddy these days!

echt · 30/04/2010 20:27

Come to Australia, where the schoolboys wear long shorts as part of their summer uniforms. Very Enid Blyton look, especially if the youth happens to be a strapping six-footer.
It's an especially arresting look if they're at one of those schools which has a blazer with stripes or heavy braiding round the edge.
