To think that Nick Griffin is misunderstood and actually a nice chap?

I heard him being interviewed this morning on the Today programme.

Firstly, it turns out he's not racist or against immigration! Apparently, he says it's ok for French people to come here (there's not that many that want to so its ok). AND he says that Irish people can come here too because they're really all British! So that's nice. I was a bit confused because I thought they'd spent all those years bombing us because they didn't want to be British but I guess I've got that all wrong.

He's not going to let Algerian asylum seekers come though, but I don't think it matters because they'll just get killed where they are in their own country so that won't be a problem for them much longer.

And the best thing is... he's going to give £50,000 to anyone who's not "pure British" to leave the country and go back to where they came from! How cool is that! So I'm now deciding whether to go back to my Great-Grandmother's origins in Russia, or my Great Grandfather's in Finland. Now, apparently this money is going to come from what he called stupid anti-Climate Change projects so although much of Russia and pretty much all of Finland is a bit chilly, as the climate changes because they money is being spent on me, they'll get warmer and I'll be all toasty!

Brilliant!

don't, guys, it's your disapproval she's after... wasted energy on your part.

in addition to my previous assessment of classic dp script, please note blanket denial of any previous behaviour. of course she asked me whether i was black before, why would i lie about that? otoh, why would she? (because she always does). and next she will ask me to link, and then it'll be 'poor me, i'm only a nice mum trying my best to understand things, please help etc'...

and then it all begins again on the next thread.

she's still not answered any of the more telling questions from the last couple of days, please note. sm has her banged to rights.

MD;

I don't even know who you are...I have never heard of you.

MailyDail · 02/05/2010 10:22

yup. i change names.

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 10:22

LG;

I have just as much right to talk about the BNP as you have to talk about Stonewall or any other gay organization you choose to talk about.....I wouldn't dream of stopping you ...

tethersend · 02/05/2010 10:22

MD, I am still waiting for DP to answer questions I asked her on a thread months ago. She promised many times to answer them, but... quelle surprise... put it this way, I'm not holding my breath .

DP, if you want to engage in debate-no matter how inflammatory- it requires engagement on your part. Leaving after posting the usual prejudiced views without engaging in any actual debate about any issue is what becomes so wearing. You have done it on so many threads now.

Were you actually to debate some of these issues, I would have a modicum of respect for you; as it is, you make it very difficult.

daftpunk · 02/05/2010 10:23

OK.....I know who you are now....(I think ?)

I think you live a very sheltered life DP. Have you ever travelled? Lived with strangers?

What you don't seem to realise is that when you make comments about homosexuality or race, you are talking about REAL people, mumsnetter and friends and family of mumsnetters. Some of whom have made more of a contribution to our society than you or I.

You don't seem to have any conception of how well multiculturalism, immigration, actually works in Britsin today.

Which seems very odd for someone who grew up in Btixton.

Anyway enough. You are a waste of time.

MailyDail · 02/05/2010 10:32

i believe so. it's a shame, but there it is. she's just a black hole for posts.

Lulumaam · 02/05/2010 10:33

think DP has asked me what religion i am in the past...

anyhoo... there is a raft of difference between upholding your political views.. but there are laws to protect people from hate crimes etc..

free speech is a good thing.. which also means if you use free speech to make skewed pronouncements about homosexuality/miced race relationships etc... you will get some strong opinions bacl.. and then wailing you are misunderstood/being picked on for your views is totally disingenous

after the first few times this happened, it was time to either accept your views are going to get you harangued and carry on regardless. or take your views to a forum they will be appreciated, and you can chat to like minded people... i think it is fairly clear that MN on the whole, does not share your opinions...

so you have to be prepared to take the heat, you create with your opinions

am still reeling about 'stick to your own kind'

you veer between 'poor old me, i never mean to hurt anoyne, please educate me..' to ' stikc your liberal opinions up your arse'

decide if you have the courage of your convictions as a self proclaimed BNP activist, or you don't

lenin i think you have carried yourself with the utmost decorum on all these threads, with grace and dignity

of course opinions can be wrong! as can manifestios, statisics and political rhetoric

for instance

saying ' I believe homosexuality is a lifestyle choice and gay people can chooose to be straight..' is an opinion, which you are certainly entitled to, but...

it is wrong

being born gay is no more a choice than being born heterosexual

Lulumaam · 02/05/2010 10:40

yup these threads are like groundhog day

and that is what happens, leningrad, when the other person isn't a troll.

not that everyone in the world has to come round to one way of thinking, of course, but everyone should be aware of our shared humanity, which should lead to some tempering of language etc so as not to hurt real people's feelings.

it's perfectly common for people to clash here and to resolve the clash without acceding to the other's viewpoint, but by striving to explain and find some common ground. or by saying sorry and meaning it when they've gone too far and not going on to repeat the same offence on the next thread. and the next and the next and the next.

but that is not the aim here, remember. the aim is to drain energy and gain attention.
